I wasn't expecting a startled face when I stood in front of her. There were many ways I imagined in my head about greeting her again, and a shocked face with trembling legs were not any of them. I somehow found her nervousness amusing and I dared not to look away. A grin started playing on my lips at her thoughts that were loud and clear.
She finally remembers.
"You look like you could use more rest" I teased. "Those legs are not going to take you anywhere, darling"
"I-I'm-"
"You" I spoke sharply at the young boy who was even more fazed at my presence. He took a step back at every step ahead I placed. "I believe you have something of mine" I continued, walking in and closing the door with the three of us inside.
What was his name again? Jungoo? Junglebook? Junecock?
The boy slid smooth like butter from my approaching figure and moved to Minrae, hiding behind her back. He peeked at random intervals over her shoulder, sometimes even acting out brave by leaving her grip only to grip back tighter on her shoulder when I stepped ahead.
"I have no idea what you are talking about man" he responded with his voice rather cracking in between.
Minrae's gaze were now cold on me. She didn't show the slightest fear like the boy did. Her hands slowly removed the boys ever so tight grip from her and shot me a deadly glare before approaching the door.
I should have noticed her red teary eyes a little earlier to comprehend the emotions she must be going through. And it all summed up when it hit me that her memories of me were also aligned with the cruel fate her brother had to face. And it somehow made me feel a little sense of guilt at the back of my head. Though I didn't want anymore of such emotions taking over me.
Sympathy was not meant for my kind.
I don't want to serve another eternity for being a Demon who saved a life.
But she is like an open book in front of me right now. And I couldn't help but feel bad for her.
"You shouldn't take rational decisions. Hoseok is not in his stable mind" I spoke, knowing why she was restless to leave the room.
"I take my own decisions" she declared with her hands pressed on the cold metal door handle, yet she never pulled it open.
She hesitated.
"You're seriously going to leave me with him!!? What the hell Minare! What happened to being partners huh?" the Junbook boy yelled. I shot him a glare after which he panicked and held a cross that he made with his hands towards me.
"That doesn't work"
"In the name of the father the-"
"That doesn't work either, kid'
"In the name of Namjesus be gone, Demon"
"What even is that now?" I asked, massaging my temples in complete disbelief.
"Why can't I meet him?" an angry voice spoke with fierceness in her tune.
Distracted by the other human who had been trying several tricks to warn me, I didn't realize how close she had come. If it wasn't for my confused gaze, her hands would have found my collar already. But she collected herself.
"I want to see him, please" she pleaded this time.
"You can. I am in no position to stop you from it. However, don't forget that Hoseok had been trapped in a circle of time that slowly passed by him. His state of mind is still very delicate and confused. He definitely recognizes you regardless of those years passing before his human eyes" I continued. "But he may not be able to look at you the same way. Give him time."
As I spoke I noticed the dead look in her eyes that had a glint of bitter hope of me being wrong as they moved to the hard ground, taking her focus away from me. And I couldn't resist the temptation of wanting to make her look me in the eye again as my fingers pulled her chin up. Another tear rolled down her pink tainted cheeks and I held back the need to crease them away.
"I will help you" I spoke and her eyes lit up in sudden curiosity. "I will help you establish a bond with him. But it will not be for free" I continued and she looked taken back and confused, stepping away from me.
"I'm a Demon, remember? I can't make free deals. The package doesn't work like that, darling"
"Stop calling me darling"
"Let's start with that then. I get to call you whatever I want, Sugar"
"Wha-"
"Care to make a deal with the devil" I cut her off with a hand gestured ahead of her. Minrae looked at my hand and then at me like she was debating to hold it or twist it.
"You're kidding me?"
"My hand is getting heavy"
"You didn't tell me the things I have to follow in the deal"
"I'm pretty sure Hoseok pretty much will go insane if we wait longer"
"But-"
"Five seconds until my hand drops, darling" I said, dramatically lowering my hand with every moving second.
"What do you want me to do-"
"And here we go" I declared, staring at her and my hands that almost reached my waist.
"Deal" she screamed, holding my hand with both hers, tightly.
"Easy there now, darling" I noticed the heavy look in her eyes slowly disappear and they weren't red and teary anymore. My deal was able to distract her from the pain she was enduring and that made me at ease. A smile moved up my cheek at the way she was flustered at my hand that pressed over hers.
"Let's begin with removing my clothes then" I said and she froze, along with the other human boy who had his jaw drop.
"What on Hades is going on here?" the presence of the other Demon in the house had made me a little challenged and competent than I was feeling at the moment.
Adrenaline rushed through me at the thought of having fun again. A smirk ran up my lips while tightening my grip on her soft hands before completely moving in space, teleporting the both of us to some place out of the hospital.
"I still got it in me" I exclaimed, looking at how we had easily reached safely in, well, somewhere.
"What the hell was that!" Minrae, yelled, holding her head and trying to balance herself on her feet.
"That my dear" I continued with a wink. "Was magic"
"No shit, Sherlock" she replied looking annoyed, although I had no idea what she meant.
"Sherlock? My name is Park Jimin and-"
"Where are we?"
"Well..." I looked around. "You should know!" I yelled. "You're the human"
I looked around and found ourselves between two tall walls of two separate tall structures. They looked like the one I was kept hostage at, the hospital. I think they are called buildings if I'm not wrong, hearing a few terms here and there from passing by human doctors. However, there was so much that I am yet to discover about the future world that I was living in.
Minrae looked around as well before speaking.
"I think we are in the city. Why did you bring me outside?"
"You seem to adjust pretty well with what I just did. Back in the day's humans would tremble in fear at a spark of our finger" I asked, confused.
"Well I've seen worse than this so I'm rather used to it. But what about you? You seem like a completely different personality after you are out the Go down"
"Well staying in there for countless years is exhausting. But I still accepted my punishment and never dared to leave that filthy place. I had nothing else to look forward to, until" I paused. "I saw you"
"Me?"
"You, Doc, will have to gain me back my wings, right?"
"Is that a question?"
"It's rather a confirmation kind of question"
"How can I-Do you know what I can do to help?"
"Well, no, which is why we will figure this out"
"You being nice to me is weird"
"I wasn't being nice. Fear me you, pesky mortal" I spoke with a deep tone and ended up gaining chuckles from her.
"Back to my question. Why did you bring me here?"
"I told you, to remove my clothes"
"Park Jimin" she yelled and I chuckled.
"Let me rephrase that. To get me new clothes from the market. These have been on me for too long. Dont get me wrong. It's not been ages since I changed my clothes"
"Market? What year are you still on" she asked, giggling. Her laugh was somehow becoming too comfortable to look at now. I found myself staring without knowing.
"Why? Do you still trade humans for rice?"
"What! No, we-" Minrae stopped talking after an invisible source of music started playing. I looked around to find the owner but realized the sound came from inside Minrae's pocket and I stared in complete disbelief.
"Your clothing is singing?"
"It's my phone, Jimin" she said, taking out a rectangular shaped metal block that continued singing. My eyes were taped to the object and twitched at the annoying sound it made. It was like a dying bee or something.
"No, I'm fine. I'll be back"
"Who are you talking to?" I asked. "Don't tell me the beast speaks?" I questioned again, pointing at the shiny metal.
"It's Jungkook"
"Jungkook? Ah! Right Jungkook, that was his name"
"I'll put him on speaker" she said and I had no idea what she meant.
"OH, MY GWAD, did he just bippity boppity boo you out of the room!? that's so sick!!"
The boy screamed and my concern grew. There was absolute terror plastered across my face. I was debating whether I should ask or not. But then I realized I couldn't hold back either. The minute the question escaped my mouth, Minrae had her hand slap across her forehead, shaking her head in dismay.
"Did this beast eat, Jungkook?"
