M I N R A E

I'd be lying if I say I woke up today thinking its just another day with the crazy lunatic whom lives rent free in my apartment. No. No, it's not going to be the same anymore. I was on my third round near my bedroom, peaking at random intervals between the creak of the wooden door upon the figure that's peacefully sleeping, wrapped like a burrito under the warmth of my blanket.

Every time he rolled over, snuggled into the sheets or even made the slightest movement, I would panic and scoot myself back to the living room, where I had a massive breakdown for like the first thirty minutes from the time I woke up. Everything from last night came back to me in seconds after my eyes fluttered open this morning.

We kissed.

Holy shit.

I fucked up big time.

Now, I know I have the liberty to just say it was an accident or just walk out of the apartment and not think much about it. But the thought of Jimin actually catching a cold from yesterday night taunted me to this second. He did say he wouldn't. But the man got drunk. What makes him think he wouldn't catch a cold sleeping in with completely drenched clothes just because he was an ex Demon.

Every bits and pieces of yesterday night started playing like a movie in front of me when my eyes traveled across certain parts of the apartment. I remembered how he kissed me so passionately and yet ended up passing out on my shoulder just few seconds after his hands wrapped around me. He snuggled between my neck, with his one hand firmly holding my waist, searching for warmth. I was left confused and a little offended to be honest.

I remember crawling out of the bed and throwing my drenched body at the couch and thinking to myself what just happened. Just as thoughts clouded in my head, I could feel my body relax and slowly drifting off to sleep.

Surprisingly, I haven't gotten sick sleeping in wet clothes and hair. But it wasn't all that unfamiliar to me, I haven't really caught a cold since I was eight. Weird, but my immunity is another level science I must confess. I've never had a health condition for years.

The more I waited for him to wake up, the more impatient I grew. I am getting late for work and sleeping beauty was not helping at all.

So, I decided to be the bold one and marched towards the bedroom in full speed, only to march back when I saw him sit straight on his back, blankets still covering his knees.

'What's wrong with you! I did nothing wrong. You go back there, Lee Minrae, and see if he is okay!' I scolded myself.

"My head" Jimin cried, holding his hair between his fingers.

Worry got the better of me as I opened the door and stood right in front of his distressed figure. Jimin moved his fingers all over his head, sometimes even pulling his hair with them. He looked like a total mess.

"You okay? Did you catch a cold?" I asked, my hands automatically moving to his forehead. His temperature seemed fine.

"I still find it cute that you think I could get sick, darling"

"Then what is the problem!?" I yelled, moving my hands away from his forehead, only for him to grab and place it back.

"My head hurts! It's like that time Taehyung tried to play the saxophone for the first time at Olympus. There is this ringing in my head and a weird pain!?" He spoke, placing his hands over my hand that rested on his forehead, staring at me with painful look in his eyes.

"Say hello to hangover my friend. Unfortunately, this will last sometime" I chuckled, annoying the man in vain. "Should have thought twice before drinking two bottles at one go. And might I add the inhuman amount of water you chugged in last night trying to convince me Poseidon was your bestie, before that wave almost carried you away"

"Make it go! I haven't had such pain unless someone forces their magic on me! Do something, Minrae!!"

"I'll get you a hangover soup and a tablet. I'm not really sure it will be of any help, considering how medicine never works on you"

'For a human she seems to be fine after sleeping in wet clothes. Well that's a good thing. I was worried she might have caught a cold'

"Yea well I don't get sick that easily"

"Did you just read my thoughts!?"

"Um, well, I guess your powers are still malfunctioning"

"Impossible. I'm completely sober now. That's weird"

"Let's get you fixed first, okay? Then we will break our heads about the rest"

There was no doubt the soup will help, but it would only make him feel less irritated and more sober. I didn't know how to help with his head ache though. That's going to be a challenge. Just when I was about to turn and move to the direction towards the kitchen, his hand grabbed my wrist and made me face him again. Jimin's seated position on the bed made it perfect for him to lean his head onto my stomach, both his hands holding my wrists.

"My head hurts" he cried, his warm cheek pressed to my tummy.

"I know. You've said that already" I panic answered.

"I'm in pain" he whispered.

"I know"

"I don't want to feel pain again"

"I know, Jimin"

"I don't want to disappear" he spoke, eyes somehow glued to his hands that had a soft grip on my wrist. Something about his voice when he said that worried me. He sounded weak. Suddenly his soft grip turned into a more trembling one. Each finger shivering and struggling to stay put around my wrist.

"Jimin, are you okay?" I questioned, but he stayed silent, hiding his face between my knee length formal coat.

The Demon in vain decided to keep silence and rub his head on my stomach. His breathing got heavier and that worried me. Without any hesitation, my hands slowly moved to softly pat his head. I could feel his heavy breathing stop for a second, almost like my touch shocked him in some way. Jimin's hands that were holding onto my wrist till now dropped, and swiftly moved around my waist, pulling me closer to him.

A sudden panic rushed through me. I felt paralyzed and confused. My endorphins were playing with my reflexes. I didn't resist or say a word. Everything just paused.

"Minrae" He whispered. I said nothing.

"I know its hard to help me. I know. And even if you get tired of me I understand. I'm sorry. I really am" He confessed. "But I need you. And when I say I need you, I mean it. I don't know what the higher world has in mind when they sent you to me. Even now I don't know how to find my wings through you. But I just want you to know" he paused, now staring right into my eyes, hands still locked around my waist.

"The minute you tell me to leave you, I will. I can promise you that"

Jimin's eyes had an entire galaxy resting inside those beautiful brown pupils. They sparkled in a way you could stare at them forever. And that's exactly what I did. I couldn't take my eyes off that hazel brown gaze upon me. He made me feel special, making sure his unwavering gaze was only for me to fall deep into. And at that moment I knew one thing for sure. There was no way I would let those lovely eyes be in misery ever again. I smiled at the ethereal being that embraced me in his warmth.

"Sir, you have been living rent free in my apartment, almost burnt down my kitchen, emptied out one of my cards with all your premium TV show subscriptions and placed an order for a horse saying cars suck. You, mister, are not going anywhere without paying me back for all that. Did I make myself clear?" I complained, full serious mode, trying so hard to hold in my laughter.

A warm smile accompanied with a giggle escaped Jimin's lips before fixing his eyes back at me. He nodded with that dorky smile of his and I smiled back, ruffling and messing his morning hair to look worse than it did before. But it was all fun and games until Jimin stared at nowhere but my lips. That quirky cute smile of his curved up his cheeks to form a sneaky little smirk.

"We kissed" he blurted.

My first reaction was to slam both my hands on the top of his forehead and push his face away from me and onto the bed. He landed on his back over the messy blanket and stared at the ceiling above in absolute shock. Jimin blinked a few times with a question mark on his face before folding his arms over each other, still laying flat on the bed.

"Human kinks are still very weird to me"

"Shut up, Jimin"

"All I said was what happened" he continued.

"You were drunk" I debated.

"But you were not" he counter attacked and there was nothing I could say to fight that. My silence resulted in another smirk.

"Oh, so we flirting now?" I questioned, not knowing how else to continue this unexpected conversation.

"You don't seem to hate it, darling"

"You know what, Jimin" I replied, having a smirk on my lips and a hand run through my hair, mischievously. A second later I was crawling on the bed over Jimin and he jerked up, paniked and confused, but he was under me and in my custody. We both just stared at each other, while mine were playful and daring, Jimin's were scared and lost. He gulped when my untied strands of hair brushed over his cheeks at the position we were at.

"I have my own way of flirting" I spoke, playing with the corner of his collar. "I could show it to you if you'd like. It's waiting for you in the living room"

Another gulp before I moved for him to get up and follow me to the living room. I expected him to go on with my act, maybe even play along, but little did I know this flirty Demon who is supposedly the master of seduction and mischief's to be a scared prey to my tease. Quiet fascinating but cute.

"Welcome to a new knowledge. You are grounded" I exclaimed, gesturing my hands around the room.

At first Jimin was confused. He looked around and then back at me with a weird stare. But when my eyes moved towards the TV, he noticed how all the wires were pulled out and the remotes missing. The laptop and computer were taken away and no means of social media and entertainment were present in the room. One last look at the room before his eyes darted back at me, almost like there were lasers shooting at me.

"You monster" he hissed. "How could you do this to me! You promised yesterday that you wouldn't touch my epitome of knowledge. And now this betrayal!!"

"Well if you remember that, then you very well remember what you did to that poor man. What you did was wrong and it's all because you're learning things wrong on the internet. Jungkook must be furious about yesterday night. I don't even know how I'm going to face him"

"But-but-but-" he whimpered with puppy dog eyes to which I shook my head.

"Please don't flirt with me again. Your language of flirting is scary" he said, hugging a pillow on the couch with a big pout. "Am I still getting the horse?"

"All you will get is a week of no TV and more car rides like it or not"

"Humans are weird. Why would you even sit on beast that fart gas"

"What!? Who taught you that?"

"Jumannjung"

"That was not even close"

"Jungjuk"

"You know what, I will give it to you for the effort. It's not just the TV, that sneaky little boy also has a lot to do with your knowledge about things. So, go ahead and call him whatever you please"

I realized I had to charge my phone before leaving for work. It was still in my bag that was placed next to my desk. Jimin kept whining about this whole grounding situation that it was almost impossible for me to get my head straight and plan my schedule for today. I was told I would be having to check on a few new patients that arrived a week before. There were a few files I need to get to my office, so I started to pile them all together and put them inside a plastic folder.

Just when I was done arranging each file, I accidentally ended up hitting the edge of the table that lead to a book to slip out of my old backpack that I used to carry at the hospital long back. It immediately caught my attention because it didn't seem like something that I would buy.

The book looked old and worn out. It felt familiar as well. A closer look might help me recall, so I bend down to pick the damaged book. As my fingers brushed across its cover page, I noticed there was something that was kept between its pages. Something black.

The door bell interrupted my focus and I couldn't risk Jimin opening the door and asking the amazon delivery man if his horse was here. It happened three times already. There was not much time. I also had to go check on Hoseok at the hospital too. So, I decided to throw the book back into the backpack and raced to the front door, expecting my package for a new hairdryer after my old one was broken into two parts. I wonder who it could be. Am I surprised? Not even the slightest bit.

With a smile I opened the door. Just as the door was swung open, I was greeted with a smile back. However, the smile on my face dropped and my expressions changed to a more surprised one.

"Missed me, Doc?" The tall man in front of me tilted his head to his right, observing me in amusement. His dimple framed smile only grew before Namjoon greeted me with a wink.
