"Hey, Mia," Sarah says, pulling me out of my daze.
I look up at her as she sits across from me at the lunch table. "Hey."
"What have you been up to?"
I shrug. I didn't really want to tell her what was going on with Olivia and I. I mean, Sarah is still my best friend, but even Liv and I don't really know what we are. "Not much. Sleeping. The norm."
She grins. "Yes! I have never met someone who sleeps as much as you!"
I giggle and can't help but look around, trying to find Liv.
"Hey, but you missed practice Friday."
I look at her. Friday. When Liv and I kissed. "Oh. Sorry."
She rolls her eyes. "Ashley wants to kick you off the team. And I'm the only one stopping her."
I shrug. Again. "I don't really care."
"I care, Mia."
"Cheer isn't really my thing."
"But it's my thing. And it's too late for you to join anything else."
"I don't know, I might join Book Club."
She rolls her eyes. "Quit being sarcastic. Come on, at least finish football season."
I sigh. "Fine."
She smiles. "Besides. Who else have you got to hang out with?"
I just smile and go along with it.
