"She didn't mean it," I say for the fifth time.
Olivia looks away and sighs. Again.
I reach for her, but she pulls away.
"Mia, do you love her?"
I sigh. "I thought I did. I really, truly did. But then I met you. And what I feel for you is love."
She bursts into tears.
"Oh, Liv, you're going to ruin your make-up."
She shakes her head. "I don't care, Mia. Are you saying you love me?"
I look into her eyes. Her caring, bright eyes. I gulp and close my eyes.
"I love you, Olivia."
She laughs. I open my eyes. She hugs me. "Oh, Mia. I love you too."
And we're both crying in the caefteria and nobody's even watching.
