chapter 1278 true form (part 2)
(your luck has been reduced by 1%.)
evan stared at the notification in front of him with narrowed eyes. at the same time, the indescribable pressure continued to weigh down on him, refusing to dissipate even after his luck was reduced.
for a moment, evan felt as though it was difficult to breathe. he glanced at anastasia and the others and noticed that their expressions remained normal as they continued to focus on carla. it was as if he was the only one experiencing the oppressive force; no one else seemed to notice itânot even anastasia.
taking a deep breath, evan flexed and clenched his hands repeatedly, trying to regain control over his body, which had gone stiff under immense pressure.
activating his spiritual senses, he scanned the training room, searching for the source of the strange phenomenon. however, his search yielded no resultsânothing in the room seemed out of place.
frowning, evan slowly raised his head, which felt like it was weighed down by invisible chains, and directed his gaze toward the ceiling.
his eyes gleamed with void energy, and his vision pierced through the void, revealing the sky outside... and the moment he saw the sky outside, his eyes trembled.
'what the hell is that thing...' evan shouted inwardly, looking at the sky.
suspended above the entire closed world of drayds was the vague silhouette of a massive eye, encompassing the sky like an oppressive dome.
evan noticed that several drayds walking outside the training room glanced casually at the sky, yet their expressions remained unchanged. it was as though they couldn't see the massive eye, its presence invisible to them.
'this eye...' evan frowned deeply as he stared at it. there was something disturbingly familiar about both the eye's appearance and the pressure it exerted.
the oppressive aura gnawing at his soul felt like something he had encountered before.
even though it wasn't real, the sheer presence of the beast left them all, including the rank six core evolvers such asâsylvan, anastasia and alaric shocked.
"what's going on?" anastasia asked, quickly approaching evan with a serious expression. her eyes remained locked on elora, who was still glaring upward, brimming with hostility.
"i..." evan hesitated, unsure of how to respond. like the others, he was utterly baffled as it was the first time he had ever seen the strange beast depicted in the vision above elora.
anastasia followed elora's gaze, her vision piercing the ceiling to examine the sky. yet, like the others, she couldn't see the massive eye covering the sky.
"what is she looking at?" anastasia muttered, her confusion growing.
evan took a deep breath and reached out to grab elora. through his connection with her, he could sense her emotions spiralling out of control.
the power of destruction within her was escalating at a frightening rateâa dangerous development given that the true halberd of destruction was still sealed within the tomb of the ancient.
if her destructive energy grew too intense, it might shatter the fake vessel of the halberd of destruction that evan was using. if that happened, elora would be forced to return to the tomb of the ancient, where the real halberd was located.
"calm down, sweetie," evan said gently, patting elora's head in an attempt to soothe her.
"bad guy, dad. there's a bad guy," elora said, her voice filled with anger as she continued glaring toward the sky.
"i know," evan replied softly, still patting her head. "i know there's a bad guy. but so what?"
as evan spoke, his eyes changedâone turning golden and the other a deep red.
elora glanced at him, her face gradually relaxing back to its usual expression.
"didn't we smash this guy into pieces in the past? if he dares to do anything, we'll smash him into pieces again. "
