Chapter 76
âSince Miss Spritz hurting you wasnât intentional, you should forgive her now that she has apologized,â
Gabrielle whispered to Victoria as she tugged at the corner of the latterâs clothes.
However, Victoria shot a glance at Gabrielle and yanked her clothes away from Gabrielleâs hand. With
her hand no longer tugging on Victoriaâs clothes, Gabrielle withdrew her hand and raised her hand as
she wasnât sure just where she should have her hands at.
âMiss Spritz is the one who decides whether she wants to apologize. However, the decision to forgive
her lies with me,â Victoria said as she looked at Bella. She then answered in a way that was unclear
whether she was talking about the current matter or something else entirely. âI will never forgive you for
the rest of my life for what you have done. Even if I die, I will be laid to rest bearing my hatred for you.â
Bellaâs eyes flickered as her eyes were tinged with hints of frustration.
Irked, Lucas shouted, âVicââ
âVictoria needs her rest. Lucas, letâs just leave the supplements here and leave.â Bella interrupted her
brother as she sat back in her wheelchair with some difficulty.
Nevertheless, Lucasâ frown remained deep. âBut Victoria is crossing the line here!â
âSheâs right. Whether I apologize is up to me, and it is up to her whether sheâll forgive me,â Bella said
with a slightly bitter smile. âBesides, regardless of my intention, I did hurt her. So, letâs go, Lucas.â
Having said that, she smiled apologetically at Victoria before she turned her wheelchair around and left
for the door.
Standing on where he stood, Lucas coldly glared at Victoria and said, âYouâveâ¦â ⦠disappointed me
greatly.
âI recall telling you last night to never meet me alone ever again. I donât want to be called a vixen or a
mistress by someone else just because someone canât stop being delusional and annoying.â Victoria
interrupted Lucas.
In doing so, Lucasâ lips tensed with his fist clenched tightly to the point that it was turning white.
âMiss Spritz is waiting for you outside, so I suggest you quickly go after her. It wonât be good if she
misunderstands,â Victoria said indifferently without consideration of the manâs anger.
Lucas grunted before he said, âI donât need you to tell me! Iâll leave myself!â Striding toward the door,
he stopped briefly as he gripped the door handle before he said quietly, âYouâll regret it one day with
how much anger youâre holding on to.â
âItâs not your concern whether Iâll regret it, so I donât need your worries.â After all, what else was there
for her to regret with her legs having once been broken? The only regrets she had was falling in love
with Christian, and treating Bella as her best friend.
Slam!
Thus, Lucas slammed the door shut as he left with a furious expression.
With her knees turning weak, Gabrielle held onto the wall as she walked toward the bed. In a slightly
trembling voice, she said, âThank goodness you were quick to react by hiding away the lingerie.
Otherwise, I wouldnât know how to explain it.â
On the bed, Victoria only gazed at Gabrielle without saying a word.
âWait, itâs actually not that big of a deal. Even if they saw the lingerie, they wouldnât be saying anything
if we donât tell them that itâs for the sake of seducing Mr. Thatcher. I was just too nervous to think about
that just now.â Gabrielle patted her chest to calm her palpitating heart.
Victoria folded the lingerie and placed it back into the box before she asked, âHow much is it? Iâll
transfer the money to you.â
âOh, donât sweat it. Itâs not much. Weâre friends, arenât we?â Gabrielle carefully pleased Victoria.
Closing the box, Victoria placed it beside her pillow before she tilted her head at Gabrielle and asked
once more, âHow much?â
âI was afraid that Mr. Thatcher would not be pleased if the lingerie wasnât any good, so I picked out the
better ones. The three of them came out to be at 6280, but just transferring 6000 to me is fine.â
Gabrielle answered the question as Victoria was insistent.
Victoriaâs eyes shook slightly as she put away her phone. âIâll give it to you in cash when Iâm
discharged.â She only registered her payroll card in her digital wallet, which had not much money in it
as her salary was meager at best. Hence, the only option for her was to withdraw money from the card
Vincent had given her.
âNo worries. Thereâs no need to rush.â Gabrielle waved her hands. âActually, itâs fine even if you donât
pay me back, considering our relationship.â
Victoria licked her dry lips. âThe doctor said that I can be discharged in another two days, so Iâll pay you
in three days. If you feel that cash is inconvenient, give me your bank account number so that I can
transfer it to you then.â
Gabrielle wanted to say that there was no need for the trouble but decided to text her the account
number after considering the fact that Victoria might return to the Coleman Family. After that, she said,
âI remember you said that Mr. Thatcher likes Miss Spritz.â Then, while observing Victoriaâs expression,
she slowly continued, âSo, you should try to be more⦠tactful when talking to her. Think about it, if you
upset her, she might make a casual remark in passing when whispering sweet nothings at Mr.
Thatcher. By then, itâll be harder for you to leave Delta Club.â
Feeling that the soup she had was a bit too salty, Victoria wanted to get out of bed to grab a glass of
water.
âStay in bed. Iâll pour you a glass of water if youâre thirsty.â Gabrielle poured a glass of warm water and
handed it to Victoria.
Saying her thanks, Victoria then took the glass of water.
âThereâs no need to be so polite over a glass of water.â Gabrielle then poured herself a glass of water
as well. After taking a sip, she continued, âActually, besides the seduction plan, I really think that the
suggestion I gave before can work as well.â
Upon Gabrielleâs words, Victoria tightened her grip on the glass. Her grip was so tight that her hand
trembled slightly, causing ripples to form on the water.
âIâve never come into contact with Miss Spritz that much. However, based on what the public says
about her and the limited amount of contact I had with her, I think sheâs a pretty gentle and kind person.
Begging her for forgiveness has a higher chance of success than seducing Mr. Thatcher.â
Victoria finished half of the water in her glass. She then placed it on the table. âYou should go back
now. I want to have some rest.â
âI can accompany you today since I donât have any plans lined up. You know, in case anything
happens, Iâll be around to help out.â Gabrielle felt that she could understand what Victoria was going
through right now, for if she was in her shoes, she would be unhappy as well when hearing someone
praising her romantic rival.
Victoria shot a glance at Gabrielle before she lay back down on the bed. âIf I can leave Delta Club, I will
compensate you for your troubles regardless if Iâm accepted back into the Coleman Family, so leave.â
Gabrielleâs face abruptly flushed so red that even her thick makeup couldnât conceal her
embarrassment.
âIâm sure itâs been hard for you these days with all the work youâve done for me.â Enduring the itch she
felt on the injury on her right leg, she continued, âIf anything happens, I can call the doctors or the
nurses to help me, so you should go back and have some rest as well.â
âT-Then, do call me if you need anything else. I donât have anything lined up for today,â Gabrielle
murmured. With her face gradually returning to a normal color, she then left the ward.
Lying on the bed, Victoria silently stared at the ceiling as she thought that Gabrielle was right about one
thing. Human beings are really complicated.
Just as Bella and Lucas left the hospital, they received a call from Denise, who asked them for their
help in containing Nancy as the latterâs quarrel with Glen and Vincent at the Coleman Residence was
getting heated. Thus, the siblings immediately asked their drivnovelxo.com fast updateer to change
their destination to the Coleman Residence. When they arrived, Denise had been waiting for them with
maids in tow for some time.
Upon noticing the siblingsâ arrival, Denise, who seemed to have seen her savior, rushed to welcome
them. âBella, Lucas, I truly canât handle the situation, so I had no choice but to call you two over.â As
she spoke, tears started running down her cheeks. âLetâs not talk about whoâs right or wrong here. Glen
has a heart condition, so if they keep arguing like this, heâll end up in a hospital.
