Coming home was a relief, and he had the urge to take her to his place. But she expressed her desire to go to her own home. Even though he was let down, he respected her decision.

“I suppose you’re heading to your place now,” she said, a hint of sadness in her voice. She knew she would miss him. He pulled her into a warm embrace and planted a soft kiss on her lips.

“If it’s all right with you, I’d like to stick around for a bit. We can order some takeout and I’ll head out in the morning,” he suggested, hoping she’d agree.

“But there’s not much to do here. Won’t you get bored?” she asked, unsure.

“I’m never bored when I’m with you. We could snuggle on the couch, watch a movie, or just chat,” he reassured her. She felt a wave of happiness wash over her at his words. A quiet night in sounded perfect.

“A movie sounds good. I’m going to shower, so feel free to order whatever you’re in the mood for,” she said, heading toward the bathroom.

Just as she was wetting her hair, the shower curtain was yanked open. She let out a gasp of surprise when she saw Xander stepping in.

“What are you doing here?” she exclaimed, taken aback.

“I thought it was about time we showered together.” He winked at her playfully. “You know, to conserve water.”

Her cheeks flushed a deep red and she took a step back, feeling a shiver run up her spine.

“I’ve never showered with a guy before. I’m not comfortable with this,” she confessed, her voice shaky.

“Showering together can be quite thrilling. I promise I won’t do anything you’re not comfortable with. Let’s start with washing your hair, then we can wash each other. Turn around so I can put some shampoo in your hair,” he suggested, trying to ease her nerves.

She turned her back to him, closing her eyes. His hands massaging the shampoo into her hair felt good. The sensation of his wet, naked body pressed against her back was tantalizing.

After rinsing the shampoo out, he turned her around to face him. He took the soap and lathered up his hands.

“I’m going to soap you all over, and when I’m done, I’d like you to do the same for me. Are you okay with that?” he asked, looking into her eyes.

“I…I guess so,” she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.

As he gently rubbed the soap over her breasts, he felt her nipples harden. This aroused him, and it took all his self-control not to press her against the wall and take her right there.

She closed her eyes, enjoying the feel of his hands on her skin. She bit her lower lip to suppress a moan. As he moved further down her body, she opened her eyes to look at him. She felt her face heat up when she saw him at eye level with her pussy. He seemed captivated by it as he soaped her thighs.

From her breathing, he could tell she was getting aroused. But since this was her first time, he decided to take it slow. He hoped to get her relaxed enough to make love to her in the shower.

When he was done, he handed her the soap.

“Now it’s your turn to do me,” he said, a playful glint in his eyes.

She took the soap and started at his neck, moving down to his chest. Just touching him made her core throb. His body was muscular and toned. As she moved further down, she stopped just before reaching his manhood.

“Don’t stop now; it needs to be cleaned too,” he encouraged her.

“I don’t think I can touch it,” she admitted, feeling shy.

“Darling, it’s been inside you so many times now. I think it’s time you held it in your hand and felt it. I promise it won’t bite,” he reassured her.

Swallowing nervously, she reached out and held it in her hand. A small smile appeared on her face.

“It feels soft, almost velvety,” she commented, surprised.

“If you like how it feels, you should try putting it in your mouth,” he suggested, watching her reaction.

She quickly withdrew her hand and looked at him in shock, taking a step back. She had heard that men enjoyed that, but she had never done it and was too scared to try.

“I can’t,” she said, shaking her head.

He was disappointed, but he understood her hesitation. He was a patient man and was willing to wait until she was ready to take that step.

“It’s okay, you don’t have to. Maybe someday you will, but I’ll never force you to do anything you’re not comfortable with,” he reassured her.

“I do like how it feels,” she admitted, blushing.

“It’s yours now, so feel free to touch it whenever you want. I’d love to make love to you right here, but unfortunately, this shower is too small. We’ll have to wait until we shower at my place,” he said, making her blush even more.

She was touched by his understanding and patience. Most men would have been angry and caused a scene.

He turned off the water and handed her a towel.

“Let’s go to bed where I can show you how much you’ve turned me on,” he said, lifting her in his arms and carrying her to the bed.

After a satisfying round of sex, they were both famished. He ordered a pizza, and they ate it while watching a movie before heading back to bed.

They were both awakened in the morning by a loud knock at the door. Realizing he had overslept, he jumped out of bed and started getting dressed.

“Damn, I’m late for a meeting. Can you see who’s at the door while I get dressed?” he asked, pulling on his clothes.

She put on a robe and went to the kitchen to open the door. Her mouth fell open when she saw Kurt standing there.

“What are you doing here?” she asked, surprised.

“Clara and I got home a day early, and I wanted to check on you. Sorry it’s so early, but I didn’t think you’d mind. Why do you keep looking toward your bedroom?” he asked, noticing her nervous glances.

“No reason. It’s really early, can you come back later?” she asked, hoping he’d leave.

“Are you okay? You seem more nervous than usual. Wait, is that guy you’ve been seeing in your bedroom? Is he here now?” he asked, putting two and two together.

Before she could answer, Xander walked out, still buttoning up his shirt. He looked at Kurt and then at her.

“Kurt, this is awkward. I’d like to stay and explain, but I have a meeting at the office. Come by in an hour, and we can talk then,” he said, trying to defuse the situation.

He leaned over and kissed her cheek. “I’ll call you later today,” he said, before leaving.

Once he was gone, Kurt slammed the door shut and glared at her.

“Please tell me he’s not the one you’ve been seeing,” he said, his voice filled with disbelief.

“Calm down, let me explain. Yes, he’s the one. I know it’s a shock, especially since he’s your boss,” she said, trying to calm him down.

Kurt held up his hand to stop her.

“How long has this been going on?” he asked, his voice stern.

“Since the party you took me to. I didn’t plan for it to happen; it just did,” she confessed, hoping he’d understand.

He was pacing, his fingers raking through his hair in frustration. He was struggling to wrap his head around the situation. The signs had been there, of course. His boss had been insistent on a group celebration for his promotion, and Xander had always been the one to drive Kat home.

“Kat, do you realize you’re putting my job at risk?” he asked, his voice strained.

“And how am I doing that?” she retorted.

“If things go south between you two, he’ll blame me. I’ll be the one to lose my job. Did you even consider that? Or did you sleep with him just to secure my promotion?”

Her eyes flashed with indignation. “How dare you suggest that! You know I’m not that kind of person.”

“But there’s something you’re not telling me,” he insisted. “I saw how he was with you at the party. Did he pressure you into going out with him?”

“Sort of,” she admitted, her gaze dropping to the floor.

“What does ‘sort of’ mean?” he demanded.

She hesitated, searching for the right words. “That night, when he told you to go be with Clara’s family, he asked me out. The way he phrased it…it sounded like if I said no, you wouldn’t get the job.”

His fists clenched. “That bastard. I’ll kill him.”

As he moved to storm out, she grabbed his arm, halting him. “Wait, I was wrong. I’ve been paranoid lately, jumping to conclusions. He told me he’d chosen you for the promotion before the party, before he even met me.”

“Then why didn’t he announce it that night?” he asked, his voice tight.

“I don’t know. You’ll have to ask him.”

He shook his head. “He’s bad news, Kat. He’ll end up hurting you. You should stop seeing him before it’s too late.”

“I can’t,” she said quietly.

“If you’re worried he’ll fire me, let him. I can find another job.”

“That’s not it,” she insisted. “He wouldn’t do that.”

“Then why?” he asked, exasperated.

“Because I love him,” she confessed. “For the first time, a man loves me for who I am, flaws and all. He treats me with respect and kindness. Xander isn’t the monster everyone thinks he is.”

He sighed. “You’re so naive when it comes to men like him. They take what they want, and when they’re done, they discard women like they’re nothing. Do you want to go through that again? Kat, he’s going to hurt you. What will you do then?”

“He won’t,” she said, her voice firm.

“How can you be so sure?”

“Because he loves me. He promised he’d never hurt me. Why can’t you just be happy for me?”

“Does he know about your past? About everything you’ve been through?”

She looked away. “Not everything. But I’m better now. I don’t even need my medication anymore. For the first time in my life, I feel normal. Please, don’t take that away from me.”

He pulled her into a hug, a protective gesture that reminded her of their childhood. They’d always tried to shield each other from their father’s wrath. He’d always regretted the times he couldn’t protect her when she needed him most. Now, he was determined to do just that.

“I need to go. I’ll call you later.”

“Where are you going?” she asked, her voice filled with worry.

“I’m going to the office. I need to talk to Mr. West.”

She grabbed his arm, shaking her head. She knew his temper, knew there was no telling what he might say or do. “Kurt, please don’t. This is between Xander and me. I don’t want you to lose your job over this. Think about Clara.”

“She’ll be upset, but she’ll understand.”

“Just go home, Kurt. We’ll talk to Xander together. Don’t do this alone.”

He hated seeing her so upset, so he agreed. But he was lying. He had no intention of letting this go. So, he told her he was going home, but instead, he headed straight to the office. He wouldn’t stand by and let his sister get hurt.
