Chapter 1: "Till Death Do Us Kill"

Story TimeWords: 4334

The wedding had been perfect-white roses, golden lights, and the man of your dreams standing at the altar. Alexander was charming, wealthy, and dangerously devoted. From the moment you met him, you knew he was different. And from the moment he laid eyes on you, he knew you were his.

As his wife, you played your role flawlessly-the innocent, fragile woman who clung to his arm at parties, who gasped at crime stories on the news, who blushed when he whispered possessive words in your ear. He adored you for it. You were his delicate flower, untouched by the darkness of the world.

Or so he thought.

Because Alexander had a secret.

And so did you.

A marriage of Shadows

It started with little things. The way his suits came home with faint splashes of red. The scent of iron that clung to him when he held you at night. He always made sure you never saw too much-hiding his late-night outings, cleaning up every trace before dawn.

But you noticed. Of course, you noticed.

He was careful. But so were you.

You never asked where he went when he left in the middle of the night. Never questioned why certain people in his business circle disappeared. Because you understood. Because you had your own late-night escapades.

Your husband was a killer.

And he had no idea that his innocent little wife was one, too.

The Discovery

One night, you woke to find the bed empty. The scent of him still lingered on the sheets, but the warmth was gone.

Curious, you slipped out of bed, bare feet silent against the wooden floors. The faint sound of running water led you to the master bathroom, where the door was left slightly ajar.

Peeking inside, you felt your lips curl.

There he was, shirtless, standing before the sink. His toned muscles flexed as he scrubbed blood from his hands, crimson swirling down the drain. On the floor beside him, a body bag rested against the tub.

He was beautiful like this-raw, dangerous, unmasked.

You stepped inside without a sound, the cool metal of the knife hidden in your hand.

Then, slowly, you pressed the blade against his throat.

Alexander froze. His sharp, predatory gaze met yours in the mirror. For the first time, he looked... surprised.

"Darling," you whispered sweetly, tilting your head. "What a mess you've made."

For a long moment, he said nothing. Then, slowly, he turned to face you, his golden eyes gleaming with something unreadable.

"You knew?" he murmured, amusement flickering in his voice.

You dragged the tip of the knife down his chest-not deep, just enough to tease. "Did you think I was blind, my love?"

He studied you, as if seeing you for the first time. Then, to your delight, a slow, dark smile spread across his lips.

"And you?" he asked, gripping your chin. His fingers were still stained with blood. "How many have you killed, little wife?"

You leaned closer, letting your lips brush against his ear. "Enough to know you're not the only monster in this marriage."

A Love Written in Blood

The silence between you stretched, thick with tension, with revelation.

Then, he laughed. A deep, rich sound that sent shivers down your spine.

"My perfect wife," he murmured, tracing a finger along your jaw. "All this time, I thought I was protecting you from the darkness." His grip tightened possessively. "But you were never afraid, were you?"

You smiled, pressing the knife against his ribs. "Oh, darling, I don't need protection."

He exhaled sharply, his eyes burning into yours. Then, with one swift movement, he spun you around, trapping you against the counter. The knife slipped from your grasp, clattering against the marble. His hands pinned yours on either side of your head.

For a moment, neither of you spoke.

Then, he kissed you-deep, hungry, consuming. The taste of iron lingered between you, the scent of death thick in the air.

When he pulled back, he smirked. "You should have told me sooner," he mused. "We could have made such a mess together."

Your heart pounded, but not in fear.

You gazed up at your husband-the man you married, the man you loved. The only man who could ever understand you.

"Then let's start now," you whispered, tilting your head toward the body bag.

His smile widened.

And for the first time in your marriage, you weren't hiding anymore.

You were exactly where you belonged-by his side, covered in blood, and madly in love.

Together.

Forever.
