The Offer
Y/N never really had a family. She had parents, sure, but love? That was something she had only ever dreamed about. Her childhood was filled with neglect, cold dinners, and empty birthdays. By the time she reached adulthood, she was used to being alone, drifting through life without purpose.
That changed the day she met Adrian and Luca.
They were a striking coupleâAdrian, with his sharp suit and quiet intensity, and Luca, with his warm smile and protective aura. They had been together for years, living in a luxurious home, seemingly complete. Yet, when they saw Y/N, something clicked.
"You seem lost," Luca had said when they first met at a café, his eyes full of something Y/N couldnât quite place. Concern? Curiosity?
Y/N hesitated but nodded. "I guess I am."
Adrian studied her, his gaze unreadable. "Have you ever wanted⦠to belong somewhere? To be taken care of?"
The question lingered in the air, heavier than it should have been.
Y/N swallowed. "More than anything."
That was the moment her life changed.
A New Home
Within a week, she found herself standing in front of their mansionâa home so large it could fit her entire past life inside. Everything about it felt surreal.
"You donât have to do anything anymore," Luca assured her as they walked through the halls. "No work, no stress. Weâll take care of you."
"You just have to let go," Adrian added softly.
The idea was tempting. Too tempting. Y/N had spent her whole life struggling, fighting to survive. And now⦠now she didnât have to.
She agreed.
She became their baby.
Soft clothes, warm meals, cuddles whenever she wanted. Every morning, Luca would wake her up gently, pressing a kiss to her forehead. Adrian would read to her in the evenings, his voice deep and soothing. It felt safe. It felt⦠perfect.
But perfection never lasts.
The First Warning
At first, Y/N ignored the red flags.
Like how her phone disappeared one night, and when she asked, Luca just smiled. "You donât need it anymore, sweetheart. You have us."
Or how Adrian would tighten his grip on her whenever she talked about the outside world.
"You donât want to leave, do you?" he asked once, his voice dangerously low.
Y/N hesitated. "No⦠of course not."
He smiled, but something in his eyes was unsettling.
And then people started disappearingâanyone who tried to pull Y/N away from them.
