Evelyn appears to be the perfect wife-sweet, loving, and devoted to her husband, Detective Adrian Blackwood. But beneath her innocent smile lies a mind consumed by obsession. She would do anything to keep him by her side. And when a series of gruesome murders start happening in their city, Adrian has no idea that the killer he's hunting is the woman he shares his bed with.
A Love Too Deep
Evelyn Blackwood was the embodiment of a perfect wife. She greeted Adrian with a warm smile every morning, packed his lunch, and kissed him as he left for work at the precinct. Their house was always clean, the meals perfectly cooked, and she never once complained about his long hours.
She adored him. Every second of her day was spent thinking about him. Loving him. Protecting what was hers.
But lately, something had been bothering Evelyn. Adrian had been coming home late-far too late. And he was talking about another woman.
"She's just an informant, Eve," he had said one night, sighing as he rubbed his temples. "A witness in the murder case I'm working on. But she's scared... so I've been checking in on her."
Evelyn smiled sweetly. "Oh, that's so kind of you, darling."
But inside? Inside, she was already planning how to remove this 'witness' from his life.
A Deadly Obsession
Detective Adrian Blackwood had been chasing a murderer for weeks. A killer who left behind no evidence-no fingerprints, no traces of DNA. Just a single, blood-red rose beside every victim's body.
What haunted him was the pattern. The victims were always women. Women who had some connection to him.
First, his ex-girlfriend. Then, a female officer from his department. And now... the informant he had been protecting.
Each one had been brutally murdered. And each time, he arrived just a little too late.
Adrian couldn't understand it. Who could possibly want these women dead?
Evelyn sat beside him, running her fingers through his hair as he stared at the crime scene photos. "You look so tired, darling," she whispered. "You should rest."
He sighed, closing his eyes. "I can't. This case is getting to me."
She kissed his forehead. "Don't worry, my love. Everything will be just fine."
She meant it.
Because she would make sure no one ever got between them again.
The Unraveling
One night, Adrian came home with a troubled expression.
"I finally have a lead," he said, running a hand through his hair. "There was a surveillance camera near the last crime scene."
Evelyn's heart skipped a beat.
"Oh?" she asked, keeping her voice calm.
"The footage is grainy, but... I saw something. A figure in a long coat. A woman."
He sighed. "We'll know more once forensics cleans up the image."
Evelyn smiled, pressing her hands together. "That's wonderful, dear. Maybe you'll catch the killer soon."
But deep inside, she knew she had to act fast.
Til Death Do Us Part
Adrian woke up to a sharp pain in his wrist. His body felt heavy, his vision blurry.
As he tried to move, he realized he was tied to a chair.
"Eve...?" he mumbled, his voice weak.
Soft footsteps echoed in the dimly lit room. And then, there she was-his sweet, loving wife, dressed in a bloodstained nightgown, holding a knife in her delicate hands.
"Shh, darling," Evelyn cooed, kneeling beside him. "I know you've been working so hard. I know you're so tired of chasing that awful killer."
His mind reeled. No... it can't be...
"You don't have to worry anymore," she whispered, stroking his cheek. "Because it was always me, my love. Everything I did... was for us."
Adrian's breath hitched. The roses. The victims. The way they were all connected to him.
Evelyn giggled. "You look so shocked, dear. But you should be happy! I got rid of those women for you. They were trying to take you from me."
She climbed onto his lap, her eyes gleaming with love and madness.
"And now," she whispered against his lips, "we can be together forever."
Adrian struggled, his heart pounding. He had been trained to face monsters. But nothing in the world could have prepared him for the monster he had married.
A monster who would do anything to keep him by her side.
Even if it meant making sure he never left.
