Chapter 39: + BONUS CHAPTER (1)

Tattoos and Scars | Completed, UneditedWords: 7026

this is a bonus chapter, because i couldn't get enough of writing this story. there will definitely be more bonus chapter, but this one is in Blake's POV, since we never had his POV in this book.

Blake-

"I lost them!" I yell, my voice panick-stricken. You know, things just couldn't get any worse.

"We're lost!" Anna yells back. Or at least that really blurry blob looks like her. I'm sure it's her, there's nothing to worry about. Then her hand wraps around mine. "Blake, I swear to god, I can't believe you lost your contacts."

"It's not my fault!" I groan. Something went in my eye and I was trying to remove it, but instead I removed my contacts.

"It is, you nitwit. We're in New York, on a fucking date, and we're lost. How are we going to find our way?"

"Go with the flow?" I offer lamely. She rolls her eyes and drags me along with her.

"Don't let go of my hand," She states as she maneuvers through the New York crowd. I don't think she knows where she's going but at least she can see where she's going. If I tried to lead us out of here, I'd have a better chance trying to echolocate.

But I tip my imaginary hat at a random stranger as Anna drags me through New York City. "Aha! A subway!" She states enthusiastically. "Blake, you better have money."

"Of course I have money," I feel around in my pockets and then hand her a wad of cash. "Here." Before she can take it in her hand, someone swipes it from mine.

"I did have money."

"Do you have more?"

"No."

"Well, this just got a lot more complicated. Blake, you don't bring out a wad of cash near a suspicious sidewalk in New York City. That's just begging someone to steal your money."

"Should we start begging for money now?" I ask her seriously.

"Don't you have a phone? Call Adrian."

"It's dead."

"R.I.P."

"Thank you."

"I was talking about you."

"Don't you have a phone?" I ask her, and she rolls her eyes.

"Blake, I lost it, remember?" She states as if I was supposed to know that. And I can't believe she lost the super expensive phone I bought her. It's as if she doesn't even care about me. I quickly swipe someone's wallet from their back-pocket. That's a really bad place to keep a wallet.

It's pink as well, so even without my contacts, I can see that.

"Hey, I found..." I squint at the bill, "twenty bucks," I tell Anna, waving the wallet at her. I quickly put back the wallet in it's owner's pocket, and keep the money.

"Great. Don't lose it."

"Aye aye."

"Blake, where are we?"

"I don't know, I can't see. But this looks like China Town."

"Which way is home?" She asks me.

"I don't know! Let's follow the North star."

"Blake, stop suggesting stupid things. I'm low on patience and high on hunger, so I'll abandon you here and navigate my own way home."

I shut up. She takes out a map, and follow the tiny lines around with her finger. "Okay, right now... I think we're at China Town. We need to take the train to..." She follows another line. "This is so confusing!"

"Concentrate, baby. I'll buy you ice cream if we get home."

Her attention span increases when I say the word "ice cream" and she starts to read the map again. "I got it! We take the Newark Train at 6PM and then we can walk home from there."

"Genius... wait... isn't Newark like that fish with a sword for a nose?"

She blinks, and thinks about it for a second. "No. I think that's a Narwhal."

"Oh. Okay."

Once we get onto the train, there's nothing that can go wrong. Unless it stops or crashes or burns... Think happy thoughts.

"Blake, why are you humming 'if you're happy and you know it, clap your hands'?" Anna asks, clearly a bit concerned.

"Um... nostalgia?" I try. She shakes her head with a smile, and then wraps her arms around my shoulder, nuzzling her head in the crook of my neck.

"You're so stupid," She chuckles. "I am never coming to New York with you again."

"I'm never even coming to New York again," I reply.

"At least we got this cute picture of us," She states taking out a picture, framed with black hearts. "You look cute."

"You look hot."

"Obviously." She takes out lipstick from her bag and applies it onto her already red lips. Then she kisses my cheek.

"What was that for?" I ask, hiding the irritation at the red mark in the shape of lips now visible for everyone to see.

"It's called marking your territory," She says as she gestures towards a girl watching me and then giggling with her friends. Then she kisses my lips, looking pointedly at the girl that's been eyeing me the train ride.

Or at least that's what I think she's looking at- I can barely see her.

The girl turns away.

"This car train is filled with creeps," She groans.

"Is that your girl?" Someone asks me from behind. I turn to see who it is. But since I can't make it out, I'll just say that he looks about forty.

"Why?" I ask, draping my arms over Anna's shoulders.

"Never mind," He shakes his head. I narrow my eyes at him, mostly to get a better picture of him. Then I turn back around, pulling Anna closer to me. She moves from standing next to me to standing in front of me.

"What's wrong?" I ask her.

"That bitch was touching me where only you can," She mumbles, her voice laced with anger. "I want him dead. Also, give me your hoodie, this entire train is filled with perverts."

I quickly remove my hoodie and hand it to her. Once we reach our destination, I turn the old dude, messing around with my girl. "So, you into seventeen year olds?" I ask him, trying to sound as friendly as possible.

"Nah," He replies, and I get momentarily confused. "Just teenagers in general."

Oh. "I see. So, how about I take you to a girl I know. She's into... older men."

He face lights up. "Dude, can you?" He looks quite drunk. His eyes are blue, and he's got blonde hair.

"What's your name buddy?"

"Gene Willow."

"Well, Gene, you got kids?" I place my arms around his shoulder in a friendly manner.

"A daughter, actually. She's sixteen. Sadly, I can't find time to mess around with her, so I pass my time with other girls... She's always working, or at school. And besides, she's too skinny, not my type."

I resist the urge to punch him. I look around for Anna, and make sure she's close to me. I hold her hand, just for safety. "Well, I'll find you someone way better than anyone you've ever been with," And with those words, I lead him into an alley.

"Why are we here?" He slurs.

I slam him towards the wall, letting go of my fake friendliness. "No one touches my girl," I growl, my voice low. Then I point my gun at his head but Anna grabs my hand. I look at her, confused.

"Don't kill him. He's not worth it," She states, and then kicks him in the place that hurts like hell. I wince, just for mankind. Him on his own... he deserved that. I punch him, before Anna pulls me away.

"Shit, do I feel horrible for you daughter," I tell him before I walk away.
