Chapter 1014:
âIf you say another foul word, it wonât just be your jaw that gets broken,â Kellanâs voice was cold and firm. âThe choice is now yours. You can stay here and be hunted down, or you can head to Afriland to do hard labor,â he said, making it clear. His words seemed to steer them.
âIf I were in your shoes, Iâd pick Afriland, though itâs far away. At least there, you could hide and save your life. Plus, youâd get a job with a hundreds-of-thousands-dollar salary every year,â he added.
But hidden in his words was a deadly trap. Kellan might offer them a job with a hundreds-of-thousands-dollar salary a year, but the catch was they had to survive long enough to get it. Once they reached Afriland, a natural disaster could strike soon, and they might not make it. Only those driven by greed would fall for such a dangerous offer.
Troyâs eyes lit up when he heard this, though he remained cautious.
âMr. Lloyd, is this well-paid salary for real?â Troy asked, still doubtful.
âOf course, itâs real,â Kellan replied. âYou can sign a contract if you donât believe me.â
âHow long will we have to stay there?â Troy asked.
âFive years,â Kellan answered.

At this, Troy blinked, his greed taking over again. He barely even noticed his wifeâs broken jaw, his mind fixated on the idea of such a good job. With a contract in place, Troy wouldnât have to worry about them breaking their word.
âMr. Lloyd, itâs a deal,â Troy said, agreeing.
âGood,â Kellan replied. âIâll have someone draw up the contract. Youâll be heading to Afriland soon.â
Kellan raised his hand. At his signal, Sherman ordered his people to escort the Hayes family out.
âNow, the cleanup is your responsibility,â Allison said, glancing at Kellan. She took Amyaâs arm and led her out. âWeâll head to the hospital first. Weâll talk on the phone later.â
Kellan nodded. âIâve got it covered.â
Though Kellan hated to part with Allison, he understood she had to focus on Amyaâs needs first.
Soon, Allison drove Amya to the hospital.
âStay here and rest up. Donât try to run off again,â Allison said. âThe main software in Hackerâs World still isnât fixed. Iâm waiting for you to return and take care of it.â
Amya forced a smile and nodded. âAllison, I really canât thank you enough.â
Allison gave her shoulder a light pat. âItâs nothing. Itâs all in the past now.â
They would all have bright futures ahead, free from the control of their original families.
Amya, a little shy, spoke up. âAllison, honestly, thereâs nothing wrong with me.â
