Chapter 1031:
But after a brief pause, Brook stood up and said, âActually, Iâll go check on him myself.â
The events of the day made him realize that fixing things with Kellan would be a lot harder than he thought.
He couldnât afford to lose another childâs love.
As they were heading downstairs, they ran into Kellan and Allison.
Nova smiled warmly and asked, âI didnât see you earlier, Ms. Clarke. Do you have business at the Lloyd house today?â
Before Allison could respond, Nova suddenly glanced at her, as if remembering something.
âMs. Clarke, I heard you visited Kinsleeâs nursing home once, which frightened her,â Nova said, her face showing curiosity. âIs that true?â
At these words, Kellanâs expression darkened.
âWhere did you hear that?â Kellan asked, his voice tense.
The nursing home was supposed to be completely safe and secure, so news like that shouldnât have gotten out.
There was only one explanation.

Someone inside the nursing home must have leaked the information for Nova to know about it.
Allison, however, remained calm as she looked at Nova.
âDo you have any proof of that, Mrs. Lloyd?â she asked coolly. Instead of answering directly, she seemed to be trying to get Nova to reveal more. âSpreading gossip is just like spreading rumors. I didnât think you would be so naive, Mrs. Lloyd.â It was clear that she was mocking Nova.
Novaâs face tightened, but she quickly masked her reaction.
âMs. Clarke, I was just making a joke. No need to take it so seriously,â Nova said, trying to lighten the mood.
She laughed softly, as if she had heard something amusing. âDonât worry. Even if it were true, it wouldnât matter. Everyone can see the way things are between you and Kellan. We all know youâre a couple now. So, even if you did accidentally end up at the nursing home before, he wouldnât hold it against you.â When Nova said this, she was confident.
She knew that Brook was well aware of how tight the nursing homeâs security was, to the point where nothing could get in without being reported.
Her words were clearly suggesting that Allison had a hidden agenda when she moved into the Lloyd familyâs house.
Brook frowned immediately when he heard this. âWhatâs really going on here?â he asked, his tone sharp.
Brook narrowed his gaze, his eyes locking onto Allison with a look that could freeze a storm.
âIf anyone dares to harbor ill intentions toward my mother, theyâll regret it. I wonât stand for it,â he said, his voice a quiet but furious thunder.
