Chapter 1035:
âYouâve signed your death warrant,â Kellan growled, stepping forward. But before he could act, Allison placed a steadying hand on his arm. Her voice was as measured as her movements. âIf youâre so certain, then you must know exactly what I was stealing.â
Barton cast a nervous glance toward Nova, then pointed at Kellan.
âIt⦠it was the snake-shaped necklace,â he blurted.
His tongue darted out to wet his dry lips, and beads of sweat dripped down his back.
âIt was Mr. Kellan Lloydâs necklace. It must be in Ms. Clarkeâs possession now!â
Novaâs eyes widened theatrically as if caught off guard.
âMs. Clarke, could it really be true? Do you have the necklace in your possession?â
She turned to Brook, adding with a calculated tone, âAfter all, only someone deeply familiar with the Lloyd family would even know about that piece. And itâs worth tens of millions!â
Hearing this, Brook glared at Allison, his opinion of this woman darkening further.
If she had taken the necklace and hadnât been with Kellan at that time, it would suggest she had not only studied the Lloyd family but also entered their lives with deliberate intent.
Her relationship with Kellan definitely had ulterior motives!

Nova smirked slyly. âUnless, of course, youâre about to claim Kellan gave it to you?â
Her teasing remark effectively shut down any plausible defense Allison might have offered.
No matter how Allison responded, it would sound like an excuse.
âI did give it to her,â Kellan interjected, his tone sharp and unwavering.
Novaâs expression turned mockingly disapproving. âOh, Kellan, youâre such a clever boy. How could you make such a foolish excuse now? Even if you want to shield her, this is hardly believable.â
By now, Brook was fully convinced of Allisonâs guilt.
His face twisted in anger as he snapped, âHave you been fooled by her lies, or are you knowingly covering for her?â
âThis doesnât concern you,â Kellan responded, his voice cold and deliberate as he emphasized each word. âItâs my possession. I can give it to whoever I choose.â
The tension between them crackled like a live wire, thickening the air. The charged atmosphere left the onlookers visibly uneasy, their breaths shallow as they hesitated to move or speak.
Without hesitation, Allison reached into her pocket and produced the necklace.
âThe necklace is right here,â she said evenly, holding it up for everyone to see.
A faint, satisfied smile played on Novaâs lips, her gaze sharpening with triumph. To her, Allison had just sealed her guilt.
Standing nearby, Barton exhaled deeply, his relief palpable. He assumed Allison had surrendered to the accusations.
