As she spoke, she cast a meaningful look toward Hoyt.

As if on cue, Hoyt immediately dropped to his knees before Brook.

“Dad, I’ve been reflecting deeply over the past few days. I made a huge mistake. I shouldn’t have acted so impulsively.” He glanced cautiously at Brook, gauging his reaction, then continued, “If only I were more capable of helping you, then Kellan wouldn’t be so arrogant and make you upset.”

“You don’t need to be overly capable, Hoyt,” Nova chimed in. “Just work hard and give your father less to worry about in the future.”

Brook’s stern expression began to ease as he observed Hoyt’s submissive demeanor. He nodded condescendingly and said, “Get up. Nova’s right. You should focus on working harder.”
