Chapter 1123:
âKellan, Iâm part of the Lloyd family. How could I ever do something like this?â
Hoyt gritted his teeth and looked down. He was trying to make Kellan understand that if he went down, the familyâs reputation could be at risk too.
But Kellan just smirked.
âThe Lloyd family doesnât recognize illegitimate children.â
Hoyt froze in place.
He realized Kellan wasnât going to lift a finger to help him.
Considering their recent clashes, it wasnât surprising. Hoyt should never have lowered himself to ask Kellan for help.
Fabian scowled.
âI donât care who you are. Youâve done wrong, so apologize to Ms. Clarke!â
Hoyt never anticipated things would unravel like this.
âBut⦠I didnât intend for this. Someone misled me into this mess.â He always saw himself, from such a wealthy and powerful family, as superior to Allison, simply because she was an orphan.
He firmly believed that someone like her didnât deserve his apology.
Yet, Fabianâs menacing stare was hard to ignore.
âIf you refuse to apologize, Iâm perfectly content to have tonightâs drama flood tomorrowâs news. I can picture Mr. Brook Lloyd apologizing alongside you at the press conference. Itâs quite presumptuous to accuse someone so boldly during my own birthday celebration.â
Hoyt was paralyzed.
Initially, Hoyt felt an urge to defend himself, to push back.

However, Fabianâs threatening tone made him buckle.
The stakes were high â if this turned into a press scandal, Hoyt knew that his future looked grim.
âI was merely joking earlier. Now, I see my mistake.â Hoyt spoke with a faltering voice.
The fear of not securing the deal today and offending Fabian shook him deeply.
Brookâs reaction worried him the most. The man was known for his fierce temper. Even if he was Brookâs son, it wouldnât change a bit. With reluctance, Hoyt bowed his head. âMs. Clarke, I apologize. My accusations were unfounded.â
This simple act of contrition was a new low for Hoyt, who had never submitted to anyone before.
Fabian then turned to Abram. âYou also owe her an apology.â
Abramâs face hardened.
He realized that there was no way out.
Right now, Hoyt had skillfully exonerated himself.
Melany had disappeared, leaving no clues behind.
To everyone around, it was obvious â he had plagiarized Allisonâs work.
Regardless, Abram was trapped by the reality of his plagiarism. Now, his only chance for redemption was to seek forgiveness from Fabian and Allison.
