Chapter 1151:

“‘Let me take you to the rest area,’” he suggested.

The server seemed to relax, visibly relieved.

He gently helped Allison toward the rest area. Once they were inside, he quickly shut the door behind them.

The room was large and spacious.

Allison leaned back on the couch, her act of being dazed quickly shifting to full awareness.

She took in her surroundings, scanning the area.

Not long after, she heard the door click as it locked.

Voices could be heard from the hallway outside.

Allison took a deep breath, moved closer to the door, and activated the recording feature on her phone.

Through the door, she could just make out Melany’s voice.

“‘Take the money, and remember, this is no longer your concern. Got it?’” the voice instructed.

The server who had guided Allison nodded in agreement. “‘Got it, you don’t need to worry,’” he replied.

As the sound of one set of footsteps faded, Allison was sure there were still others lingering outside.

Melany turned to face Hoyt.

“‘I’ve done everything you wanted. After this, it’s none of my problem,’” she said.

Melany had no plans to be the one pulling the strings.

She understood it was crucial to involve Hoyt. Otherwise, if this man betrayed her, she would be the one to face the consequences.

Hoyt nodded slowly. “‘Alright. Once you leave, I’ll take care of everything,’” he assured her.

Hoyt wore an expression of unwavering resolve.

“‘Today, I’m going to make Kellan regret every single thing. Anyone he cares about, I’ll destroy them. He has to pay for what he’s done to me!’”

The malice pouring off him was palpable, and Melany could feel it.

But she wasn’t bothered.

They had the same goal, after all.

When she had apologized to Allison earlier, humiliation had burned her. Allison’s indifferent response had only deepened the sting.

“‘You can do whatever you want, but remember one thing — just don’t mess up again.’”

As she spoke, Melany couldn’t help but think back to Abram. That idiot had plagiarized, gotten caught, and dragged her down with him.

She still didn’t understand where Allison had learned all those skills. Still, most of her resentment had faded by now.

“‘By the way, Hoyt, I advise you not to handle this yourself. It’ll definitely leave a trace. Make sure others do it for you,’” Melany’s voice was laced with caution. “‘I can’t afford to be dragged into another mess.’”
