Chapter 1208:
Diamond Feather had been struggling with its reputation, tarnished by inconsistencies in the quality of its perfumers. Desperate for revival, the company was actively seeking collaborations with skilled perfumersâa fact not difficult to verify.
Minutes later, the secretary called back.
âMr. Stevens, the information checks out. Iâve sent the details to your phone.â
After hanging up, Colton reviewed the report with precision.
Everything aligned with what Melany had said.
And the information was only known to a few. Diamond Featherâs current operations were exclusive to Vrining, and securing a deal with them could not only resolve financial issues but also elevate the Stevens Groupâs standing in the market.
Melany caught a glimpse of the screen over Coltonâs shoulder.
Satisfied that her information had been validated, Melany smiled faintly. âSee, Colton? I told you I was right.â
Lindyâs patience was wearing thin. She was still waiting for Coltonâs response.
âSo? Is the information true or not?â
She didnât want to believe Melanyâs words anymoreâuntil she saw Colton nod.
âAs of now, the information seems reliable,â Colton said.
As it was good news, a rare softness crept into his tone as he addressed Melany. âYou did well. Iâll have someone follow up. If it works out, it could save the company and make Grandpa happy.â
Melany let out a quiet sigh of relief, her eyes glistening as she said, âI ask for nothing more than to help.â

But deep down, her intentions were far from pure. She only wanted to see Allison suffer. If it werenât for that bitch, she wouldnât have been confined like a prisoner these past days!
Lindy was momentarily appeased by Coltonâs words. âThen our business is saved!â she exclaimed, her relief palpable. She hadnât expected Melany to be useful.
So Lindy gave Melany a way out. âMelany, Iâm sorry for wronging you earlier. You know how much the previous false information has bothered me.â
âItâs okay. I donât mind,â Melany replied with a practiced smile.
Of course, she knew that Lindy was just using her. But Melany saw this as a chance, a stepping stone.
âColton, why donât you let me go to Vrining with you?â Melany said, seemingly casually. âIâve been there before, and I know a bit about the area. Plus, I have some knowledge about perfumery. I might be able to help with negotiations.â
Her demeanor was calculated, obedient, and almost self-sacrificing. She looked as if being with Colton would mean everything to her. Colton, though fully aware of her scheming nature, was pragmatic. In business, results mattered more than personal feelings.
After a momentâs pause, he answered with a nod. âAlright.â That single word was all Melany needed. Her lips curled into a triumphant smile.
âIâll definitely do my best to help!â
