Chapter 1226:

“What?”

Mick froze, the weight of the situation hitting him hard. His breath quickened, shallow and uneven.

Mick never thought anyone would notice the differences between the actual construction and the blueprints after so many years.

“The blueprints you’ve got are just examples,” he explained, his nervousness evident. “They’re not the same ones the construction crew used. The actual plans were changed during the build.”

Allison’s eyes narrowed, and her voice turned sharp. “Oh, really? Then why on earth do these flawed blueprints even exist?”

Mick’s throat tightened as he struggled to find a response. He felt the weight of the truth pressing down on him.

He let out a shaky breath, realizing there was no way to cover it up anymore.

“I… I’m sorry. This is on me,” he admitted, his voice barely steady. He hesitated, then finally came clean. “The truth is, there’s a basement under Aröme Tower. But someone didn’t want Dibya Group to find out about it.”

He scrambled to push the blame onto someone else. “They told me to design the basement and the secret passages. It wasn’t something I came up with on my own! Mr. Morgan, I was under so much pressure and had no choice!”

Allison opened her mouth to press him further, but Fabian cut her off, his voice cold and flat. “Enough. Mick, you’re fired.”

Fabian’s expression darkened as he looked out the window. “If you want to avoid taking the fall for this, bring me the real blueprints. Do it now.”

Fabian didn’t need to dig any deeper. He already knew who was pulling the strings behind the scenes.

It was crystal clear to him — the mayor had been targeting Aröme Tower for weeks.

Mick’s hands shook as he rushed to respond. “Okay, I’ll get on it right away!”

After the call ended, Fabian exhaled deeply, trying to calm himself. “I never imagined Aröme Tower would hide something like this. It’s just… disgusting,” he muttered to himself.

He glanced at Allison, his mood still dark. “Ms. Clarke, I’ll make sure you’re well compensated for this. Thank you for your careful observation.”

Her smile was polite but cool. “That’s very generous of you.”

She didn’t waste time. Smoothly, she steered the conversation back to her agenda.

“There are several high-tech labs in Aröme Tower. Would it be possible for us to take a look around?”

She smiled, her tone casual but sincere. “While my work mainly focuses on perfume, as you’ve seen, I also have a strong interest in architecture.”

“Of course,” Fabian agreed without a second thought.

He didn’t hesitate to trust Allison. He turned to his secretary and gave a simple order. “Add Ms. Clarke’s fingerprints to the system and give her full access.”
