Chapter 1228:
Knock. Knock. Knock.
When Allison stepped inside, a warm, polite smile graced her face. âExcuse me, is this Miss Lizzie Bellingerâs room?â
The woman in the hospital bed gave a faint nod. âYes. May I ask who you are?â
âIâm the representative from Dibya Group. Iâm here to visit you. And⦠if possible, Iâd like to discuss the collaboration with you.â
She entered the room slowly with Kellan, her movements deliberate as her eyes discreetly took in her surroundings. Her gaze flickered briefly toward Colton and Melany.
Based on prior discussions, Allison knew that the two of them were scheming to steal this business opportunity.
What baffled her, though, was how they had discovered the details and managed to swoop in to save their client.
âMiss Bellinger, we heard about your accident earlier today, and Mr. Morgan specifically sent us to check on you.â
Kellan stepped forward, carrying a bouquet of sunflowers.
Allison had thoughtfully chosen them on their way to the hospital.
He placed them casually on the bedside table.
âWish you a speedy recovery,â Kellan said with a faint smile.
He stood beside Allison, their figures framed by the soft sunlight filtering through the window. The golden rays seemed to cast a serene, almost ethereal glow over the scene, filling the room with an aura of quiet hope.
Colton stared at them, visibly taken aback.

âAllison, what are you doing here?â
His gaze lingered briefly on her outfit â a simple gray suit that gave her a composed and professional air.
Melany, startled by his sudden question, felt a pang of guilt twist in her chest. She had been the one to plant a mole in Kellanâs company to spy on the Diamond Feather project.
Forcing a calm expression, she spoke up before Allison could respond.
âColton, didnât you hear what Allison said? Sheâs representing Dibya Group.â
Melany plastered on an innocent smile, her tone light.
âItâs such a coincidence. I didnât expect we would all be here to see Miss Bellinger for the same thing.â
Lizzie, observing the dynamic with interest, finally spoke up. âIt seems you all know each other.â
âOf course.â Melanyâs hand lightly clutched Coltonâs arm. A sweet smile graced her lips. âAllison used to be Coltonâs ex-wife, and now sheâs Mr. Lloydâs girlfriend, so weâre practically friends.â
Despite her smile, annoyance simmered beneath her calm exterior. From the moment Allison had stepped into the room, Coltonâs dazed expression had not gone unnoticed.
