Chapter 1246:
Melanyâs heart sank. Everyone knew that Vrining was home to some of the best golfers in the world â and Geltay was among the best.
They didnât stand a chance against him.
He was setting them up to fail.
But before anyone could respond further, Allison spoke up, her tone calm and unwavering. âIâll give it a shot.â
She wrapped her fingers firmly around the golf club.
Then, she looked directly at Geltay, fearless. âBut if you lose, not only will you have to agree to collaborate with us, but youâll also have to apologize to Ontdale.â
The silver club gleamed under the light, cold and sharp in her grip. When she lifted her gaze, there wasnât a trace of hesitation in her eyes.
Geltay felt something unexpectedâan involuntary flinch.
That look⦠he had seen it before. It was both cold and powerful. The kind of gaze that belonged to someone who had walked through battlefields and emerged stronger.
But the moment he realized that he had been intimidated by a woman, his pride flared up.
âYou seriously want to compete with me?â Geltay stared at Allison.
âYou could let the man next to you take your place. I wouldnât want to bully a woman. After all, if you loseâ¦â He crossed his arms and tilted his head with an easy smirk. âYou might regret how embarrassing it is to bark like a dog.â
Allison grinned, her smile oozing with confidence. âI didnât realize, Mr. Norwood, that you could actually foretell the future. After all, we havenât even started the game, and youâre already talking as if youâve won.â
She swung her golf club effortlessly.

âOr is it that youâre too scared to face me, so you want someone else to take my place?â
Allisonâs smile remained, but her words were anything but friendly. The arrogant tone left everyone present in shock. Clearly, she was provoking Geltay.
He chuckled bitterly, his anger unmistakable.
âWhat makes you think Iâm afraid to compete with you?â he retorted, his grip tightening around the golf club, a clear sign of his growing tension.
âMs. Clarke, is it? Donât be surprised if youâre the one begging for mercy by the end of this,â he warned, his voice cutting and cold.
Geltayâs demeanor was menacing, radiating fierce aggression.
Allison, however, seemed completely unfazed by the warning in his eyes. âI hope, once the result is clear, youâll accept the outcome gracefully,â she said, her tone calm and firm.
By now, Allison had figured out Geltayâs personality. He was arrogant, making him easy to provoke. His only merit was that if she could truly defeat him at golf, she could win the contract deal.
And beyond that, she couldnât allow Ontdaleâs reputation to be tarnished. She wanted to show him how foolish it was to be so prejudiced.
