Chapter 1258:

They then went up to the laboratory on the third floor, only to be met with a barricade of inspectors in black suits blocking the entrance. The laboratory, which was supposed to be tightly closed, was now forced open for all to see.

“The CEO is here!”

The words rippled through the crowd, sending some of the onlookers scattering.

Allison seized the moment to scan the situation. Standing at the center of it all was a man with his hair slicked back with wax, his name tag reading “Drucker Foster.”

A sneer curled on his lips, his expression laced with condescension. “Mr. Morgan, you finally decided to show up.”

Drucker held a pen in his hand, casually jotting something down, looking like he was preparing to make things difficult.

“Mr. Foster, you arrived so suddenly that I didn’t have time to give you a proper welcome.”

Fabian’s steps were steady as he entered the room. He sent a reassuring glance at Annis Wilson before turning to Drucker with a smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes.

“If you had given me a heads-up, I might have even arranged something warmer.”

“No need for that.” Drucker plastered a mock-friendly smile on his face. “An inspection that’s announced in advance wouldn’t be much of an inspection, would it?”

“Of course not. But this makes it the fifth inspection this month.” Fabian’s voice grew colder. “And that caution tape outside? It looks more like a staged spectacle than a real investigation.”

Drucker remained unfazed by Fabian’s biting remark. With an air of indifference, he gestured lazily toward a perfume sample in front of him. “I’m sorry, Mr. Morgan, but this isn’t just a fire inspection this time. Someone reported your company for using illegal substances, so my team is conducting an analysis.”

Allison’s gaze flickered toward the bottle of perfume.

Without hesitation, she stepped forward, picked up a test strip, and took a sniff. There was nothing wrong with it.

“And who might you be?” Drucker’s eyes narrowed as he turned his gaze on her. “Has no one told you that tampering with a sample could compromise the integrity of our investigation?”

Allison knew the rules clearly, but she simply pretended not to understand.

“I apologize. I’m not from Vrining, so I’m not quite familiar with all the rules here,” she said with a tone of innocence.

Kellan’s expression mirrored the growing tension in the room. His frown deepened. “In our country, five inspections in a month would be unheard of. It seems excessive.”

Having navigated the business world for years, Kellan was well-versed in how tricky certain tactics could be. However, he never anticipated that someone in Vrining would boldly set their sights on Aröme Tower. The person behind this must be someone formidable and powerful.

Kellan’s gaze shifted to Drucker — indifferent, yet piercing. “Besides, conducting such a serious drug inspection without proper authorization is highly irregular. It requires official, approved documents.”
