Chapter 1308:
The more he spoke, the more frantic he became. He had only one thought in his mind â he absolutely couldnât be arrested.
Otherwise, it would be even more difficult for him to get out.
Kellan watched him, his expression unreadable.
Then, in a voice laced with quiet disdain, he murmured, âYou really do have a selective memory.â
âYou selfishly claim all the credit for yourself, forgetting that everything youâve achieved is built on the foundation my mother and grandfather laid.â
Kellan pulled out a stack of documents, slamming them onto the table in front of Brook.
âIf it werenât for you, the stains and unjust reputation wouldnât have fallen on the Lloyd Group!â
Brookâs face turned red with anger after hearing this. His finger trembled as he pointed at Kellan.
âWhy keep blaming me as if everything I did was wrong? Donât act like you didnât benefit from my behavior at all! If it werenât for me, you wouldnât have what you have today.â
He had always seen himself as Kellanâs father, the one in control, the one above him. But that was no longer the case.
âYouâre wrong, Brook. It was my mom who gave me life, who gave me everything.â Kellan felt disgust rise within him. âYou deserve the mess youâre in right now.â
Allison could feel Kellanâs anger still simmering despite the revenge heâd just gotten. She reached for his hand, wordlessly grounding him.
Kellanâs anger slowly cooled. Her hold reminded him that he now had a new family, a new beginning.

Seeing their hands clasped together only fueled Brookâs rage.
âAllison, you should look at him closely. Heâs so cold-blooded to his own father. Do you really think heâll treat you well for the rest of your life? One day, youâll experience what Iâm suffering now!â
Kellan was about to lose his temper again when Allison held his hand, calmly looking Brook up and down.
âMr. Lloyd, perhaps you should take care of yourself first. Itâs easy to imagine youâll be spending the rest of your life in prison, so youâll miss out on seeing the fulfilling future we have ahead of us.â
Brook froze at her words.
Kellanâs voice was so icy as he chimed in, âI will make sure you are punished for every crime.â
Brookâs expression shifted as he finally understood the trap Kellan had laid for him all along.
His son had pretended that he didnât care about anything related to him and the misdeeds he had done, waiting for the perfect moment to send him to prison.
Seeing the investigator beside him growing impatient, Brook began to panic. He quickly shifted tactics, trying to play the victim.
