Chapter 383:

Back in the day, everything belonged to Gianna, Kellanâs mother. But after her death, Brook not only seized 30% of the shares but also had the audacity to elevate his mistress publicly.
If it werenât for Kellanâs undeniable skill, his father wouldâve swallowed him whole long ago.
Kellan had been playing the long game, biding his time to take back all his motherâs shares.
Hoyt, on the other hand, had spent years living recklessly, serving as the perfect contrast to Kellanâs level-headed demeanor.
Now that Kellan had finally moved against Hoyt, it signaled something deeper.
Ferdinand grinned, saying, âYour scumbag father must be losing his mind right about now.â
Kellanâs voice was flat, void of any emotion. âLetting him live is more than he deserves.â
As he spoke, Kellan slowly tightened his grip, the black leather gloves creaking as his fingers tensed.
His cold demeanor made Ferdinand think of the art exhibition he visited, where he saw a medieval knight, gloves on, sword in hand, ready to strike.
Kellan was untouchable, a force no one could intimidate.
âTsk, you shouldâve seen Hoyt at the hospital, screaming like a pig. Quite the spectacle,â Ferdinand chuckled, recalling the scene.
But Kellanâs expression remained unmoved, as if Hoyt were nothing more than a trivial insect.
âWhenâs the race?â Kellan asked, abruptly changing the subject.
âIn about half an hour,â Ferdinand replied, glancing at the slip in Kellanâs hand.
âThe competition in Group B is laughable. But thereâs a new face today, a girl.â
Ferdinand rested his chin on his hand, recalling, âPurple eyes. They could be colored contacts. She caused a bit of a scene earlier. Fiery attitude, but who knows if she can actually drive.â
âItâs irrelevant,â Kellan said indifferently.
He never treated anyone, not even his closest friends, with special consideration. âSheâll lose,â Kellan stated calmly.
Ferdinand was briefly at a loss for words, letting out an exaggerated sigh.
âYou know, you never show this stone-cold side when youâre with Ms. Clarke. You dote on her all day, but after everything Iâve done for you, I get no thanks at all!â Despite years of friendship, the difference in how Kellan treated him versus Allison was glaring. It was, without a doubt, a case of dropping old friends for a woman.
Kellanâs response came cold and calculated. âIf multimillion-dollar projects donât count as help, feel free to cancel the contract with Charisma Company.â
At those words, Ferdinandâs grin returned in an instant. âI was only messing with you! Besides, men donât need emotional hand-holding.â
He straightened his mask, shifting the conversation. âAnyway, itâs time I make myself scarce. Iâm too high-profile, and a physique like mine doesnât hide easily, even with this mask.â
Ferdinand waved at Kellan and motioned toward the exit. âFrom here, itâs up to you. Iâll go stir things up to demoralize them so they donât have the mindset to focus on you.â
