Chapter 500:

Andres looked down at the blood-streaked floor, a faint smile playing at his lips. âA simple misunderstanding. Perhaps we can discuss this properly?â
Behind him stood a dozen armed bodyguards in black. It was both an intimidation tactic and a warning.
But Allisonâs expression remained impassive. She released Fay, who stumbled back, visibly shaken.
âIâm quite attached to this place,â Allison said, wiping her knife clean with a handkerchief. âI donât intend to sublet it.â
She had no desire to escalate things; Fay had already reaped her own punishment. And if Andres was offering a peaceful solution, she was willing to take it.
âSo it would be best to find Amor another location,â she added.
Andres approached, hands clasped, his smile measured. âUnfortunately, Amor specifically requested this property. I owe her a favor, you see.â
He paused, meeting Allisonâs gaze. âOr we can resolve this the Muisvedo way â with a wager against Amor, for rights to the property.â
It wasnât a suggestion. It was a challenge.
Andres was a tough man, the kind who stayed silent but observed everything. Though he appeared neutral, he was actually working behind the scenes to support Amor. Allison suspected that others might resort to dirty tricks in the gambling game.

âTsk, are you afraid of a little gamble?â Fay taunted, clutching her arm in pain. She glared at Allison, resentment burning in her eyes. âIf youâre scared, just leave now. At least that way, youâll walk away with some compensation.â
Fay couldnât understand why Andres hadnât just had Allison killed or sent his men to scare her into leaving. But the rules of Muisvedo had been in place for years, and they were always followed.
Allison tilted her head, a challenging smile playing on her lips. âIf I remember correctly, the casino falls under Muisvedoâs jurisdiction. Since these people work for you, why should I trust that youâre not in league with Amor⦠only to kill me in secret afterward?â
Fayâs face flushed with anger. âThatâs bullshit! If we wanted you dead, you wouldnât be here talking.â
âFay, shut up,â Andres commanded, his voice hard.
Fay fell silent.
Andres then turned to Allison, his tone serious. âThe chairman will be at the casino today. You know as long as heâs around, the rules will be enforced more strictly than usual. There will be no cheating.â
Allison raised an eyebrow at the mention of the chairman. She knew him to be a mysterious figure, managing the casino operations on the surface, but in reality, he was the hidden force behind Muisvedo.
If she could gain his favor, her plan to reboot Hackerâs World would go much smoother.
Noticing her thoughtful silence, Fay couldnât resist taunting again. âIâll be sure to report your attitude to the chairman today.â
