Chapter 504:

âMs. Prescott, Scarlet Snake was⦠obstinate,â she faltered, eyeing the blood on the lane. âIn fact, she got even cockier when she found out it was you who wanted her place.â
She took a shaky breath. âNot even Andres could sway her. She insisted on gambling for it according to Muisvedo rules.â
Amorâs expression darkened, her voice dripping with menace. âShe wants to gamble with me? Bold, isnât she?â
At that moment, Arkâs screams faded. One of the men approached Amor, a smug grin on his face. âDid we do well?â
But before he could finish, Amorâs foot shot out, striking him hard in the groin. He dropped to his knees, biting his lip in pain. His entire body trembled violently, yet he remained fearfully silent.
âGet out of my sight,â Amor hissed, her irritation palpable. âSeems even the rats around here dare to bother me.â
Fay quickly chimed in, her voice venomous. âSheâs nothing, Ms. Prescott. Just a masked nobody trying to make a name for herself by challenging you. Someone needs to put her in her place before she brings more pests crawling out of the woodwork.â
Amorâs laugh was a low, dangerous purr. âIf sheâs so eager to face me, letâs see what sheâs capable of. But if she losesâ¦â She gave Fay a pointed look, handing over 100k. âIâll be taking more than just her base. Oh, and if my people want to take action, donât get in their way.â
Fayâs eyes lit up with excitement as she nodded fervently. âUnderstood!â
Amor glanced at her watch, impatience flickering across her face. âWhere is she?â
Just then, the echo of heels on marble rang out nearby, steady and unhurried.
Everyone turned toward the source of the voice.
A woman stood at the entrance, her face hidden behind an elegant mask, her figure striking enough to rival any runway model. The silver sequin dress clung to her silhouette, accentuating a slender waist that turned heads. Her red-soled heels, fastened by delicate silver straps that coiled up her ankle, highlighted the graceful length of her legs, each step making a silent statement.
The mask only added to her allure â an enigma wrapped in beauty.
Whispers rippled through the crowd.
âIs that the Scarlet Snake?â
âBeautiful, but with that mask, who knows what sheâs hiding. Maybe a monster underneath?â
âWhat a shame⦠if sheâs here to challenge Ms. Prescott, sheâs as good as lost.â
Even Fay and Amor were caught off guard, taken in by her presence.
Allisonâs expression hardened. Her sharp instincts immediately picked up on the faint, unmistakable scent of blood. Her gaze shifted to a man lying nearby, unconscious and clearly roughed up.
âAre you the Scarlet Snake?â Amor asked, her eyes gleaming with interest as she took in Allisonâs appearance, sizing her up. âDidnât expect someone so young to come looking for trouble.â
Beside her, Fay sneered, dripping disdain.
âAnd she came in a mask, no less. Whoâs she kidding? Afraid to show your face?â
