Chapter 510:

âColton, whyâs this place buzzing like itâs New Yearâs?â Melany asked, glancing curiously at the packed floor.
Colton shrugged indifferently, preoccupied.
He had come here hoping to find information on Hackerâs World for his mother, but so far, heâd hit a dead end. Lost in thought, he stopped short when his attention was snagged by a familiar figure across the room.
Melanyâs face went rigid, her voice trailing off as she muttered, âWhatâs she doing hereâ¦?â
They both remembered their last encounter with Allison in Muisvedo â when sheâd locked them in a warehouse, leaving them scrambling to escape.
Colton was taken aback seeing Allison in a shimmering silver dress. She sat there, expressionless, but her presence commanded attention. Even he couldnât escape her allure. His irritation simmered as he watched her, once again captivating the room with effortless elegance. Not long ago, she had been his wife. Now, she felt as distant and enigmatic as a stranger.
âI never thought Allison was this well-off. Places like this donât just open their doors to anyone,â Melany murmured, her voice feigning innocence.
She cast a sideways glance at Colton before adding, âLooks like Charisma Company has been quite generous with her. Mr. Lloyd mustâve really lined her pockets.â
Coltonâs expression darkened at the mention of Kellan. His jaw tightened, and a hint of resentment slipped through. âHer affairs are none of our concern.â
Before he could say more, a waiter interrupted, offering them a warm smile as he presented a tray of drinks and hors dâoeuvres.
âWould you care to place a bet, sir, madam?â The waiterâs voice brimmed with enthusiasm. âTonightâs a rare occasion â with Kylo himself presiding over the high-stakes match between Amor and Scarlet Snake. Itâs bound to be thrilling!â
Colton glanced up, noticing a heated debate among the crowd nearby.
âThrilling? Please, the resultâs as clear as daylight! Weâre talking about Amor here. She hasnât lost once. Sure, Scarlet Snakeâs got a colorful past, but thereâs no way she can take down Amor.â
âRight, betting on Scarlet Snake is like setting your money on fire.â
âWhoa, hold on! Iâm putting seventy thousand on Amor!â Melanyâs eyes flickered with intrigue at the mention of high stakes.
She leaned in, gently tugging Coltonâs arm, her voice a soft, honeyed murmur. âColton, since weâre here, why not join the fun? Thereâs no news from Hackerâs World right now, so why not kill some time?â
Then she sighed wistfully. âBesides, it doesnât look like Allison has any supporters. Maybe betting on her would be a nice show of faith.â
Colton stayed silent, mulling it over.
For a moment, he lifted his gaze and thought he locked eyes with Allison. But she didnât pause or acknowledge him; he was just another face in the crowd to her. Could she truly be that indifferent?
