Chapter 532:
So, this was her ploy â to bait Amor into a trap.
A flicker of a smile tugged at Kellanâs lips, though he kept his expression neutral, lacing his response with a touch of frost. âItâs not an issue. Even if we lose everything, I can afford it.â
The weight lifted off Amorâs shoulders at those words. She was now even more certain that Allison was playing this game by memory alone.
With Kellan willing to bankroll her, it made sense that Allison would take big risks without worrying about the consequences. But Amor silently vowed that no matter what happened, even if it meant losing ten million dollars, she wouldnât let Allison get away unscathed. The thought of severing Allisonâs fingers and putting them in a glass display case gave her a twisted sense of satisfaction.
The air in the casino crackled with tension as the crowd leaned in, eager for the final outcome.
âThere are just twelve cards left, six pairs. Amor and Scarlet Snake are only one point apart. If Amor plays her cards right, she could secure the victory,â someone murmured, eyes locked on the table.
âMaybe. But did you see how Scarlet Snake and Mr. Lloyd kept matching in the last few rounds?â someone else countered.
âExactly! They each have three turns left. If Amor pulls all pairs, Scarlet Snake will need to do the same just to break even.â
Though Allisonâs expression seemed strained, her eyes were calm, darting over the cards in front of her. She had intentionally left these twelve cards in the game, curious to see how Amor would choose.

âAh, I really botched that last one, didnât I? Ms. Amor, you donât have a photographic memory, do you?â Allison asked with a knowing smirk.
âI do, actually. Always have, ever since I was a child,â Amor shot back, squinting, though the claim was a bluff. Amorâs eyes darted over the remaining cards.
She wasnât searching her memory; she was hunting for tells on the cardbacks. Years of cheating had made her skilled at spotting subtle marks, and her people had tampered with many of the cards to aid her.
To avoid suspicion from the casino staff, Amor had been careful not to mark every card. She mixed in unaltered cards to make her scheme less noticeable.
Approximately sixty percent of the deck had been tampered with, and she could recall the details of many of them. This meticulous strategy meant she was nearly flawless at finding pairs.
But as fate would have it, the last twelve cards remaining were untouchedâcards she had purposefully ignored in earlier rounds and had no recollection of.
Amor muttered a curse under her breath at Allisonâs uncanny stroke of luck.
Her expression darkened, and hesitation crept into her movements.
Could she really trust sheer luck to win against Allison in these final two rounds?
âDo you want to raise the stakes?â Allisonâs voice interrupted the tension, her tone measured but brimming with purpose. âThis time, Iâm betting the one hundred million I promised before, plus everything Mr. Lloyd has put into play.â
