Chapter 581:

“So that woman was cheating on my son from the beginning!” she fumed, her voice rising with each word. Unable to contain herself, Lindy stormed over to Allison, her eyes hard with accusation. She squared her shoulders as if to expose Allison’s every wrong.

“Allison, you’re out here in broad daylight, holding hands with another man! Have you no shame?” she barked, her tone dripping with indignation.

The thought of Allison’s supposed cheating pushed her over the edge.

“Be honest, when you went to the Lloyd Group for help, did you crawl into his bed to secure their support?” she demanded, her words biting.

The moment the words left her mouth, a resounding slap cut her off.

The slap rang in the air, leaving a bright red mark across Lindy’s cheek, a stark reminder that some baseless accusations come at a price.

Lindy’s eyes went wide, disbelief flashing across her face. “How dare you hit me!”

But even as the words left her mouth, a tremor of fear ran through her.

Allison took a step forward, looking as cold as stone. She radiated a chilling presence that made Lindy shrink back instinctively.

“Lindy, I’ve been divorced from Colton for a long time. Who I date now is none of your business.” Each step she took drove Lindy further back.

“That slap? That was me holding back. Spread any more lies, and next time, it won’t be so easy.”

Kellan stood beside Allison, his face exuding nothing but menace.

“If you know what’s good for you, you’ll leave now,” he said, his predatory gaze piercing through her.

He didn’t stand as a shield between Allison and Lindy. He knew better. Allison was more than capable of defending herself.

“You… you two…” Lindy stammered, her fingers trembling with rage. Her cheek was still burning from the sharp slap. For one terrifying moment, she’d actually been afraid of Allison. She was too scared even to move. The woman was like a demon from hell!

Now that she had processed it, Lindy felt utterly humiliated. She, Lindy Stevens, had been slapped by someone half her age—and she’d actually backed down!

But Kellan was not someone to be trifled with. The menacing vibe he emitted made the entire atmosphere feel particularly cold. He and Allison looked like sent mercenaries; ready to kill.

Melany, witnessing the mounting tension, put on an apologetic smile. “I’m so sorry. She didn’t mean any harm — she was just flustered.”

She slid a gentle hand over Lindy’s, trying to steer her away.

“Lindy, let’s focus on what’s important.”

But while Melany’s tone was soft, her eyes burned with rage.

Just last night, she’d lost a staggering sum at the casino. Colton was being detained there now because he’d stepped in to help her.

Thinking of her predicament, she looked at Allison with a practiced helplessness.
