Chapter 795:
In his eyes, Alice might have seemed timid and fragile, but she had a will of steel.
âThe item is hidden in the roses. Youâll know it when you see it. I have to take care of something else.â
Allison nodded, saying firmly, âIâll do my best.â
Once Verruckt left, her face grew cold, and she entered the room on the top floor. The view of the city below stretched out before her as she picked up a card and activated her earpiece.
âMr. Lloyd,â she said.
A deep voice crackled through the invisible earpiece. âAllison, Iâm here.â
Kellanâs voice had a soothing, magnetic quality, and it was clear that he had been waiting for her. Hearing his voice reassured her, just a little.
âIs there any movement at the lab tonight?â she asked.
âThere is, just like you expected. The Immortality Group is in talks with the lab. Theyâve brought in an ambulance for infectious patients, and it looks like theyâre moving a lot of test subjects today.â
He stared out at the moonlight for a moment, then added, âWe managed to get a look at the list, but Lilianâs name isnât on it.â

That only made things more complicated.
He furrowed his brow before asking, âHowâs everything on your side, Allison?â
âDonât worry, everythingâs fine.â
Allison studied the card in her hand for a moment before adding, âKeep an eye on the transfer route of the test subjects. Iâll get in touch if anything comes up.â
âGot it. And Allison, Iâll always be here.â Kellan didnât ask about Verruckt.
He had already planned that tomorrow, he would give Verruckt a devastating showdown, once and for all. What Allison didnât know was that Kellan was the type who believed in an eye for an eye.
Under the silvery glow of the moon, Allison studied the card she held tightly in her hand. It stated, âMrs. Mollie Blakeâs room is 1902. The white powder is a potent roofie. Take her away from here.â Clearly, she was being nudged to concoct a plan. After mulling over her options, Allison assessed the predicament. Mollieâs situation was tricky. She wasnât troublesome by nature, but her security was tightâa fortress of vigilant guards surrounded her.
âTime to dip my toes in the water first,â she murmured to herself.
Allison ventured into the bedroom, where Verruckt had laid out her mission gear: a sleek, all-black athletic ensemble, perfect for the nightâs escapades. She slipped into the outfit quickly and stashed the card back into her bouquet. Armed with the roofie, she set off for Room 1902.
As the door creaked open, Allison peeked around. The VIP sectionâs room was fortified by four men in black. They had guns and batons at their waists, looking like professional bodyguards from the military.
