Chapter 830:
Allison blinked, startled by the unexpected counsel. âThank you, Mrs. Blake. Iâll keep that in mind.â
âYouâre a smart girl,â Mollie replied, her expression warm yet knowing. She could tell Allison harbored secrets, and that she wasnât a simple woman; her use of the roofie had been a clear sign. Yet, she chose not to press further.
Instead, her thoughts drifted to Verruckt. What would it be like if someone ever tamed that wild, unpredictable force? It would be so interesting.
âAlice, I look forward to our paths crossing again.â

He held up his phone and showed Verruckt the information on the screen.
âThe fallout from this is huge. Josh wasted no time and put pictures of his injuries in the newspaper. It also says two hundred people died,â Jareth explained.
Verruckt let out a sneer. âThat sly old fox,â he muttered. Allison, who had been eavesdropping, furrowed her brow. Sheâd assumed Josh was the one pulling the strings.
