Chapter 848:
Looking back, he could see how his actions had come full circle. It was karma, plain and simple. A bitter taste crept into his mouth, and a weight pressed on his chest.
Even so, he told himself that it wasnât too late. He would do whatever it took to win Allison back from Kellan, to prove to her that he was no longer the old Colton.
At Eastshade Dock, Allison caught up with Kellan.
âIâm close by. How are things looking your way?â Kellanâs voice, raspy and weary, came through the earpiece.
âAll clear for now. My crewâs met up with Gordon, but itâs a maze getting out of here.â
From a secured vantage point, he scrutinized a map. âWeâve mapped out a getaway, but it means weaving through another cruise ship to the right.â
âLet me have a look.â Allison fetched her binoculars for a clearer view. She spotted two imposing cruise ships, anchored side by side.
âThat emblem on the cruise ship rings a bell.â
Allisonâs brow furrowed, struck by a flicker of recognition. Interrupting her thoughts, Kellan said, âFor a clean break, weâll need a hand from that cruise shipâ¦â His voice trailed off abruptly. Then, a crackle of static blared from the earpiece. It sounded as if Kellan was being chased, and suddenly, he was gone.

With a worried look, Allison stared at the dark silhouette of the cruise ship and immediately called Amya. âCan you dig up some dirt on that black cruise ship moored at Eastshade Dock?â
âSure thing,â Amya replied, her fingers already dancing across the keyboard.
From where Allison stood, the cruise ship was ablaze with lights. Clearly, it was party central onboard, with guests mingling freely while it made a brief stop.
âMs. Clarke, Iâve got the scoop. The shipâs called the Galaxy. Itâs no ordinary vessel; itâs a swanky casino cruise thatâs invite-only.â
Amya was glued to her computer screen.
âItâs Kyloâs show â heâs there as we speak.â
Allison pieced it together. âThat explains the déjà vu.â The emblem was identical to one she had seen in Muisvedo.
No wonder Kellan had eyed this particular vessel; the Galaxy was not just any ship. Even the Mayor would need Kyloâs blessing to step on board.
She had considered pulling Kylo into her plans before, which was why, after clinching the bet in Muisvedo, she had him owe her a favor. The time to call in that favor had come. Unfortunately, she hadnât kept Kyloâs contact information, meaning she had to track him down herself.
Determined, Allison headed straight for the Galaxy. Outside, a man in a brown suit stood out among the throng.
