Chapter 915:
But how had he treated her back then?
Colton remembered telling her, âAllison, can you stay away from me? Your smile really bothers me.â But that wasnât the truth. Allisonâs smile had always been as bright as a spring day. It could make his heart race.
Yet, back then, Colton had hurt her with his words over and over, even though he never meant it. He had believed she loved him so much that she would never leave him.
Tears began to slip down Coltonâs face. The paramedic asked quickly, âCan you hear me? Do you have any family we should contact?â
With great effort, Colton took his phone out of his pocket. But his hands were too weak to hold it. It slipped from his fingers and hit the floor with a crash. The staff picked it up and unlocked it using his fingerprint.
âHereâs an emergency contact. Looks like itâs his wife.â
âCall her!â
The paramedics dialed the number and waited, but there was no answer.
One of them muttered, âWhy isnât anyone picking up?â

âThis is getting troublesome,â another said.
Colton lay on the stretcher, a heavy pain in his chest. At that moment, he realized that he truly had no one with him. The blood loss was too much, and his awareness began to slip away.
Maybe this was his punishment. If he died, would Allison even shed a single tear for him?
Deep in the thick jungle, Allison and Kellan had guided their team to the outskirts of Fleeingland.
âShit! The tireâs going to blow. We have to get out now!â the driver yelled, fighting to control the car. Despite his efforts, it smashed into a massive tree.
Bang!
The car door was torn off, but the vehicle kept careening forward. Allisonâs hand gripped the seat, but she was still flung from the car.
âAllison!â
Kellan grabbed her hand, and together, they fell out of the car. They tumbled several times on the ground.
Allison ended up in Kellanâs arms. She felt his hand gently press against the back of her head, as though shielding it. He groaned quietly, like he had been hit by something.
Not only had Kellan been caught off guard by a rock, but so had Allison. They finally crashed into a huge boulder.
Kellanâs arm took a serious blow, probably a fracture. But he didnât seem to care. He stumbled and looked over at Allison.
âAllison, are you okay?â
âYeah⦠Donât worry about me.â Allison tried to comfort him, just like she always did.
