Chapter 918:
Kellan nodded. âThis is Kyloâs place. After you passed out, he brought you here. Your injuries were serious, so I had no choice but to trust him.â
With Bill dead, Kylo had come out on top. âYou were out for three days. We went over the events at the dock. If Iâm right, Kyloâs real target was always Bill. He just used us to get to him.â
What a calculating man, Allison thought, not shocked. âThe Immortality Group is in his hands now. Who knows if thatâs a blessing or a curse?â Kellan continued.
But Allison had a strong feeling. Though Kylo was cruel, he wasnât insane. On the contrary, he was quite rational and knew how to control himself. Otherwise, Muisvedo wouldnât have been so well-managed in his hands.
But Allison wasnât interested in thinking about that right now. Instead, she studied Kellan closely. âI was out for three days. Did you not sleep at all?â she asked softly.
âThereâs no rush,â Kellan answered, avoiding her question as he prepared some medicine to treat the inflammation in warm water. âThis will help with the inflammation. Drink it.â
Allison nodded, took the bowl, and swallowed the medicine in one gulp. âSo bitter,â she murmured.
The taste was so sharp that it almost left her speechless. Seeing her reaction, Kellan let out a small laugh and gently wiped the medicine from the corner of her lips. âThereâs candy here.â
Kellan carefully unwrapped a piece of candy and held it up to her lips. âAllison, Iâm so happy youâre alright.â
Allison took the candy from his hand. âMe too.â
Before she could say more, Kellan gently lifted her chin with his fingers. Then, he leaned down and kissed her.
When Kellan kissed her, the peach-flavored candy she had in her mouth started to dissolve. It felt warm. It tasted sweet.
At first, the kiss was gentle, but it gradually grew more intense. His Adamâs apple moved as he kissed her, his lips pressing firmly against hers.
âWhile you were unconscious for three days, the police announced that Verruckt was dead. But that wasnât enough for me. I tracked down every one of his men â those who had the nerve to touch you that night,â Kellan said, his voice low and filled with hidden fury. âBut it still doesnât feel like enough. Everyone tells me youâll be okay, but in my nightmares, I keep watching you vanish. Allison, Iâm awful, arenât I? All I want is to be with you forever.â As Kellan spoke, his kiss grew even deeper.
Allison couldnât even catch her breath to reply. It wasnât just her lips he kissed; even her tongue seemed to get lost in the rhythm of his, tangled with his as though they were one. He was like a man stumbling in the dark, suddenly finding a flicker of light â and holding on to it like his life depended on it. It was overwhelming.
Allison pressed her hands against his chest, feeling the wild thump of his heart beneath her fingers. It was as if Kellan wanted to pull her into himself, never letting her go.
There was a raw, almost forceful possessiveness in his touch, a need that made him feel like someone completely new to her. Kellan had always been distant, even cold at times, but now he was shattering the calm mask he usually wore.
He gently bit her lower lip, his breath warm and heavy against her skin. âAllison, I love you.â
