Chapter 922:
Kellan met his gaze evenly. âYou donât need to say it. Iâve got it covered.â
âYouâd better,â Gordon grumbled.
Though he disliked Kellan, even he had to admit that the man was skilled in combat.
As Gordon and Amya departed, silence descended upon the room once again.
Kellan moved closer, slipping an arm around Allisonâs waist.
âIf you want to speak to Lilian alone, Iâll restrain her and wait outside,â he offered, ever mindful of respecting her boundaries. Even with the person he held dearest, Kellan understood that he needed to give her some privacy.
He wouldnât insist on listening to their conversation or ask her to share any secrets if she didnât want to, especially when the subject concerned her mother.
âThatâs unnecessary.â
Allison put her arms around Kellanâs neck. âEven though Gianna is gone, she and my mother were always close. Our familiesâ paths have been connected for a long time. Therefore, you are a part of this matter, too, and itâs natural for you to join our conversation. We can handle it together.â
Kellan stopped for a moment, staring into Allisonâs eyes. âOkay, weâll see Lilian together.â
Kellan then guided Allison to the place where Lilian was kept.

Soon, they reached an important location.
Kylo had arranged for them to stay in a house he owned in Fleeingland. It was as big as half a manor, but what set it apart was its proximity to the street. The neighborhood was one of the few valuable plots in Fleeingland. Right next to the house, there was a busy and prosperous commercial area.
Lilian, the test subject, was being kept on the north side of the property.
Allison looked up and saw a white, three-story building that resembled a warehouse. What made it stand out was the lack of windows. It was completely sealed off.
âMr. Lloyd, Ms. Clarke, the person youâre looking for is in a single room on the second floor. Please follow me.â
Kyloâs men were already at the entrance. When they saw Kellan and Allison, they quickly let them through.
âThanks.â Allison followed the guide up the stairs.
She looked around and saw that the security here was just as tight as in Verrucktâs research institute. True to Kyloâs reputation, he was careful and precise.
When they reached the room where Lilian was kept, they were surprised to find it spacious. The room was decorated in warm tones, giving it the feel of a typical girlâs bedroom at first glance.
Kellan slid the card into the lock, and the door opened with a soft âbeep.â
Kellan turned to the staff and said, âYou can go now.â
