Chapter 923:
âOf course, sir.â
Once Kellan and Allison made sure no one was outside, they stepped into the room.
âLilian, itâs good to see you again.â
Allison stared at the woman lying on the bed. She didnât appear as frantic as before, but there was still a cautious look in her eyes.
âAre you from Immortality Pharmaceuticals?â
Allison and Kellan shared a quick look. Allison spoke softly. âDonât worry. Iâm the one who got you out of Immortality Pharmaceuticals.â
Lilian frowned and studied Allison closely. After a moment, it seemed like she remembered something.
âItâs⦠itâs you.â
âIâm not sure how much you remember, but it was me who got you out of that lab.â Allison spoke calmly and clearly. âI didnât just inject you with the serum; I also helped you escape.â
Lilian seemed to recall those events, and her suspicion toward Allison eased a little.
âWhy did you save me?â
I/të$+ çhÃ¥ptÄrÅ¡ įñ gÃ¥ÅñøvêÅÅ.cøm
She wasnât naive. She understood that nothing came without a price.
Allison felt a sense of relief when she saw Lilian willing to talk. She pulled out a bloodstained earring from her pocket. âDo you remember who you took this from?â
Lilian stared at the earring for a long moment. Suddenly, her heart began to race. The bloodstains on it seemed to stir up dark memories.
âWhat earring is that? I canât see it well. Come closer.â
If it had been just any regular earring, Allison would have tossed it over. But this was the last clue to finding her mother. So, Allison stepped closer, placing the earring right in front of Lilian. âTake a good look.â
Lilian stared at the earring, her breath growing more shallow. Her mind flashed to the image of a woman in a white lab coat, who had almost snapped her neck. For a moment, that woman looked just like Allison.
Lilianâs thoughts were starting to unravel.
âDonât⦠donât come any closer!â
As she spoke, Lilian pulled a syringe from under her pillow.
Without a second thought, she aimed it at Allisonâs arm. âGo to hell, you evil woman! I knew you were one of the researchers!â
In that split second, Kellan stepped in front of Allison. âAllison, watch out!â
Everything happened so quickly.
The syringe jabbed into the back of Kellanâs hand.
Luckily, the needle wasnât long and didnât go in too deep. He quickly shoved Lilian to the floor and used zip ties to restrain her.
