Chapter 928:
âEverything has been running smoothly,â he replied. âThanks to your bravery, I was able to take over Immortality Pharmaceuticals. But I didnât expect your ambitions to go even further.â
Initially, Kylo had assumed that Allisonâs aim was simply to get rid of Verruckt and Josh. What he hadnât realized was that her true intention was to destroy the entire research institute.
That first night after taking Allison and her team under his protection, Kylo had spent hours awake, trying to figure out her real motives. When he saw the researchers and test subjects, the pieces finally fell into place. Her goal was clear â she wanted the research institute gone for good.
Allison listened to Kyloâs words without a flicker of emotion crossing her face.
âDid you get what you were after, Mr. Vargas?â Allison asked, her tone sharp yet steady.
Their exchange, though direct, was deliberate. Both knew they had too much at stake to let anything slip.
Kylo gave a sly smile. âNaturally,â he said.
âRest assured,â he continued smoothly. âWhat I wanted were the legitimate businesses and operations of Immortality Pharmaceuticals, along with stronger ties to Fleeingland. Nothing else interests me.â
He picked up the teapot and poured tea into delicate cups for both Allison and Kellan. With a calm hand, he passed the cups to them. âI never waste time looking back. Those who need to disappear should simply fade away,â Kylo added, his voice cold but composed.

Allison accepted the teacup, fully grasping the meaning behind his words.
âYou have a remarkable understanding of the bigger picture,â she said, her tone laced with respect. âI was far too focused on smaller details.â
âYouâre far too humble, Ms. Clarke,â Kylo replied with a faint smile.
He then handed Kellan a steaming cup, completing the gesture. âMr. Lloyd, have you been around much lately? Iâve heard my house has been under surveillance,â Kylo said, his tone light but pointed.
He was clearly referring to the infamous mafia.
Kellan accepted the cup of tea and replied, âI havenât been out much lately, but considering your dealings in both the legitimate and underground worlds, itâs not surprising someoneâs keeping tabs on you.â
âFair enough,â Kylo said with a nod, taking a sip from his own cup. âWhen I was younger, I wouldâve made sure those kinds of people were dealt with â permanently,â he added, chuckling softly and shaking his head. âBut now, Iâve started to think that violence isnât always the best solution. What about you? Do you have a better idea?â
Kellan caught on quickly â Kylo was testing him, digging into his experience.
âAfter tasting your tea, I must admit, Iâm inclined to agree. Violence might not be the answer,â Kellan said with a calm smile. âLet things take their course. Those who need to disappear will do so on their own.â
Even if Kylo hadnât brought it up, Kellan already knew how heâd handle the mafia if it came to that.
