Chapter 946:
Allison was shocked by what she had heard. She had never imagined that the Lloyd family was so tangled.
Suddenly, she seemed to recall something and pulled out the snake-shaped bracelet and the earring, holding them in her hand. âKinslee, do you recognize these?â
Kinslee frowned and looked at the items. She then reached for her reading glasses from the nearby drawer and examined them closely.
âI remember this snake bracelet â it belonged to Lily. But I donât recognize the earring.â
âDo you remember if she said anything before she left?â Allison asked, her voice laced with curiosity.
âI think she did say somethingâ¦â Kinslee thought hard. Her head throbbed, but she didnât want to stop. This was one of those rare moments when things seemed clear.
âLily mentioned something back then about leaving a code in a computer game. Maybe you could reach her through thatâ¦â Kinslee didnât care much for games. She was getting old, and her memory had slipped a lot.
By the end, her voice had weakened, almost uncertain.
âKellan, why arenât you at school yet?â

The pain seemed to have lingering effects on her. Her body instinctively shut down, making Kinslee forget everything once more. She couldnât even recall the person she had been talking to just moments ago.
âYoung lady, who are you? Why are you in my room?â
Allison stood frozen. âKinsleeâ¦â
There were still so many questions she hadnât asked. Kellan understood too. Kinslee needed to rest now. The brief moment of clarity had faded away completely. No one knew when the next clear moment would come or how long it could last.
âAllison, weâll get another chance.â
Kellan helped Allison to her feet, then gently calmed Kinslee down.
âKinslee, weâre the caregivers. You need to rest.â
âOh, so youâre the caregivers?â Kinslee waved them off. âAlright, leave me alone for a bit. I remember Gianna said yesterday she wanted to make a necklace for the child, but I canât quite rememberâ¦â
At the sound of her words, Kellan stopped in his tracks. It felt as though an invisible hand was squeezing his heart.
âKellan, Iâm here.â Allison reached out and took his hand, their fingers locking together.
They walked side by side, offering each other silent support.
âIâm fine.â
Kellan lowered his head, his face hidden in shadow. Even if it meant facing his own father, he was ready to take him down.
