Chapter 972:
Kellan twisted the neck of a man in black, snatching the gun from his hand.
Meanwhile, Allison had already shot and killed a sniper who had been lurking nearby.
âAlright, these guys arenât very good. Looks like Daniel only sent some people to keep an eye on things, but he didnât expect me to actually show up.â
After Allison said that, they immediately went their separate ways, back-to-back, diving into the fight.
Ten minutes later, the sound of gunfire finally faded.
Kellan wiped the blood from his fingers and pulled out his phone to call Sherman.
âBring some men to the deserted island in Ontdale. Weâve got several bodies to take care of.â
âYes.â Sherman, on the other end, was utterly shocked. That deserted island was so isolated. Why would Kellan be there? What was more, it looked like heâd taken out quite a few people.
Meanwhile, Allison carefully cleaned her dagger.
âI never imagined Daniel would hire such useless assassins. It looks like heâs no longer as powerful as before.â She tucked the dagger away.
âThe key wonât matter, even if he gets his hands on it. My goal is to restore Hackerâs World; I just need to fix one troublesome program.â

âDid you find a way?â Kellan asked.
âYeah, Amyaâs on it. Sheâs really skilled with computers.â Just as Allison finished speaking, her phone rang.
It was Amya.
Could it be that Hackerâs World was making progress? Before Allison could ask, a loud rush of noises came through the phone.
âMs. Clarke, I was wondering if I could borrow some money from you?â Amyaâs voice trembled, fear evident in her tone. Allison could hear furniture crashing and a vase shattering in the background.
There were also screams and desperate cries from others.
âYes,â Allison said, immediately tensing. âBut you need to tell me, whatâs going on?â
Amyaâs voice cracked. She hadnât expected Allison to agree to help so quickly without asking questions.
âSorry to bother you. Itâs a family issue. I need to borrow four hundred thousand right now.â Amyaâs voice was thick with tears. âMy parents took a loan from some loan sharks, and they came and took them. They want me to pay to get them back.â
Allison frowned. âOkay, calm down. Iâll send the money right awayââ
Before she could finish, a loud scream cut her off.
It sounded like the phone had been grabbed roughly, and more noise filled the background, as if a fight was going on.
âWho is that?â a harsh, cocky voice barked from the phone. âWeâre from Shadow Nine. Do you have any idea how much this woman owes us?â
