Chapter 976:
It was only then that they understood who Kellan truly was. He was the man who had once been crippled but had risen to build a vast business empire in Ontdale.
Anyone foolish enough to cross him met only one endâdeath.
The man with tattoos froze in fear when he realized what was happening.
He pleaded frantically, âPlease⦠donât kill me! Iâll share anything you need to know in the future!â
Allison thought for a moment and said, âSpare him for now. I need more information.â
Kellan gestured firmly, saying, âFollow Allisonâs orders. Eliminate everyone else, but leave him alive.â
âUnderstood!â came the swift reply.
Moments later, the rest were silenced, their faces frozen in horror.
They were taken away so quickly that they couldnât even resist. The tattooed man, bound tightly, was so terrified that he lost control of himself.
âAllison, Iâve already instructed Sherman to look into it. Weâll have answers soon,â Kellan assured her.
He then bent down and carefully wiped her fingers clean.
The dock in Ontdale was as well-guarded as the one in Fleeingland. Every cruise ship here had powerful backers, and security was incredibly tight.
Allisonâs expression darkened. âThe ones we saw earlier were just low-level thugs from the junkyard. If Iâm right, the real boss of the Shadow Nine is on that cruise ship.â
The actual leader wasnât someone ordinary people could meet, let alone cross paths with.
As soon as she finished speaking, Sherman arrived with urgent news.
He hurried over and reported, âMr. Lloyd, Ms. Clarke, weâve uncovered something. The Shadow Nine is involved in sex trafficking. Their deals usually take place on the paradise cruise ship at Silver Harbor.â Sherman handed them a stack of documents, still catching his breath. âThe boss is there too, his name is Victor White,â he added. âBut thereâs one thing I need to mention. Weâll need an invitation to get on board.â
Kellanâs tone was cold and unyielding. âGet an invitation, no matter what it takes.â
âYes, Mr. Lloyd,â came the immediate response.
Allison paused, thinking carefully.
âSherman, one more thing. Can you find out when the Paradise ship is scheduled to leave the dock?â she asked. âThey wouldnât move an entire cruise ship just to smuggle one person.â
Time was running out, and she knew that she had to act fast. Sherman nodded, but before looking into the shipâs schedule, he delivered some shocking news.
âMs. Clarke, Miss Hayesâ parents werenât actually kidnapped,â he revealed. âThey gave her contact information to the Shadow Nine themselves. Then they staged the kidnapping recording to deceive her.â Shermanâs voice faltered as he spoke.
Who would have thought that Amyaâs own parents would betray her?
