Chapter 977:
Allisonâs rage exploded when she heard this.
âPeople like that donât deserve to be Amyaâs parents,â she spat.
She stepped closer to the tattooed man, pressing a dagger to his throat.
âWhere are Amyaâs parents now? Tell me!â she demanded.
The tattooed man swallowed nervously, his fear evident.
âThey⦠theyâre in the fishing village,â he stammered.
His body shook uncontrollably.
The cold steel of the dagger seemed ready to sever his head at any moment.
âThey were deep in gambling debt. Thatâs why they were willing to sell their own childâ¦â
Allison took a slow, steady breath. âFor just four hundred thousand dollars?â
The tattooed man nodded, his voice bitter. âForget four hundred thousand dollars. Theyâd have sold her for even forty thousand. People like them donât care about anything. As long as they could get money, they wouldnât care what their daughter would face.â After saying that, he quickly lowered his head.
It was clear he feared that Allison might turn her fury on him.
âIâve told you everything I know,â he said, his voice trembling.

He glanced over at Kellan, hoping to win his favor. âMr. Lloyd, I was a fool not to see how important you are. If you let me go, I can work for you. Iâll go undercover and help you bring down the Shadow Nine!â
Kellan looked down at him, a cold glint in his eyes. âWhat? Arenât you worried Victor will kill you for betraying him?â
The tattooed man grinned nervously. âOf course not. You wonât let me die, Mr. Lloyd!â
Kellanâs expression darkened. âSadly, youâre wrong.â
A chill ran through the air as the cold light hit Kellanâs sharp features. âI never spare traitors.â
Before the tattooed man could fully understand what was happening, Kellan gave the order. âGet rid of him. Do it quickly.â
âUnderstood.â Sherman moved without hesitation.
The tattooed man didnât even have time to scream before his mouth was covered and he was dragged away.
Death was all that awaited him.
Allison glanced up. âI have to go to the fishing village to see Amyaâs parents.â
Kellan nodded. âAlright, Iâll go with you.â
He gently took her hand. âItâs not worth getting upset over people like that. Your wounds havenât healed yet.â
âI know,â she replied softly.
Allison stared into the sunlight, the cold wind biting at her face.
