Chapter 988:
âDirector, we have to make this happen!â
The doctor handed over the photo and papers, a proud grin spreading across his face. âThe nurses mustâve already told you â today, weâve got a big catch.â
A bald man sat on the sofa. He was the director of this clinic, Darryl Burke.
He took the files, skimmed through them quickly, and then focused on the surveillance screen.
âI saw her,â Darryl said carefully, âbut she doesnât look like someone here for cosmetic work.â
He rubbed his bald head, his eyes narrowing with caution. âIf sheâs with the police, this could be a problem.â
Something about Allison didnât sit right, but he couldnât figure out what.
The doctor waved him off. âNo chance. The nurses already checked her out. Sheâs clean â not a cop.â He spoke with complete certainty. âI talked to her myself. Sheâs all good. Her boyfriendâs been putting her down for years, so sheâs insecure and came here for surgery.â
Then he pulled out the signed loan agreement. âI got her to sign this. If she vanishes, weâll stick to the usual story â say she got into debt and took her own life over it.â
Darryl squinted, his suspicion growing. âIs that so? Something about her showing up feels off.â
But the doctor had lost his patience. With only two days left before the deadline, he wasnât going to risk facing Victorâs anger â or his whip.

âDirector, even if something feels strange, what does it matter? Once we put her under and send her to Mr. White, our part is done.â The doctor glanced at the surveillance screen.
Allison sat with her head down, giving off the impression of a shy and unsure woman.
âThere are only two days left. If we donât gather enough women, Mr. White will lose it. In the next couple of days, we can move some money into her account and quietly pull it out again. When she canât repay the loan, her disappearance will seem totally normal.â He had done this many times and knew exactly how it worked.
âAlright,â Darryl said, sighing.
He knew Victor wouldnât be patient much longer.
Darryl waved it off. âI doubt anyone would even notice if she goes missing. And if her boyfriend comes looking for her, we can take him too. Get her on the cruise ship now.â
The doctor nodded. âUnderstood, Iâll handle it right away.â
With that, he hurried back to the examination room.
As he opened the door, he saw Allison sitting there, her hand tightly clenched, as if she were holding something.
For a second, he thought he saw a flash of cold metal.
