Chapter 18: Chapter 15

A couple months later, Finn decided to surprise Leo by taking him to a soft play centre. He had invited Lia and Oliver and wasn’t sure if they were wanting to go with them as he hadn't heard a reply from Lia at all. “Finny?” Leo spoke as he walked down the stairs with Ellie (elephant stuffie) in his arms and his favourite blanket. “What’s up?” Finn replies being curious on what the kid wants. “Can I have some apples and pear please?” He asks, looking at the ground. “Of course you can” Finn had a feeling that Leo was feeling a bit older than usual today. Finn walked into the kitchen as Leo waddled behind him following his footsteps. Leo grabs an apple and a pear and passes it to Finn so he can cut the fruit up and put it in a bowl. Finn puts it all in a bowl and passes it to Leo as he walks over to the table in the kitchen to sit down and eat his fruit. “Can I also have some apple juice please?” Leo questioned as Finn gets his sippy cup out of the cupboard and pours cold apple juice in it. “There you go” he responds, passing him the sippy cup then giving him a kiss on top of his head. “Thank you!”

Time ticked and Finn was still waiting for a response from Lia, he had a feeling she was busy so he left it and went upstairs to check on Leo. “Are you alright?” Finn spoke as he knocked on Leo’s bedroom door. “I’m okay!” Leo replied as Finn sat on the floor next to him. “Are you having a tea party with everyone?” He asked. “Yep! Everyone gets a cupcake too, I made them myself” Leo responds proud of himself. “You’re so creative!” Finn smiles as he pats Leo’s head. “Do you want to join the tea party?” He added. “Of course I would love to!” Finn exclaimed as he got in the circle with Leo’s stuffed animals and Leo poured him a cup of tea and gave him a cupcake. “You have to be careful the tea is really hot” Leo warned Finn as he passed him the cup. “Thank you very much, I’ll be careful,” Finn smiles. Finn began drinking his tea while Leo was sorting his stuffed animals out. A ping sound came from Finn’s phone, he looked at it and saw a reply from Lia. ‘Of course we would love to come, we’ll be over at yours in an hour’ the message read. “Leo, we are going to go somewhere today, I have a surprise for you” Finn spoke. “A surprise?!” Leo squealed as his eyes lit up. “We should get ready, we have to leave in about an hour,” Finn suggests. “Okay!” Leo exclaims as he jumps up and down on the spot.

They both got ready and Finn heard a knock at the door, Leo was eating his lunch. He was at the table eating his ham and cheese sandwich while being occupied by his tablet. Finn answered the door and let both Lia and Oliver in. “he’s just eating his lunch, would Oliver like anything to eat?” Finn questions. “Would you like anything, sweetie?” Lia crouches down and speaks to Oliver. “Sandwich please” he mumbles. “Of course, would you like cheese, ham, turkey?” Finn asks. “Just cheese please” Oliver answered with a mumble. They all walked into the kitchen and Leo turned his head and saw Oliver and Lia standing there. “OLI!” Leo screamed as he jumped out of his chair and ran to give him a hug. “Leo, inside voices” Finn reminds him. Leo gave Oliver a massive hug and Oli gave one back to him. Finn made Oliver’s sandwich and they both made their way back to the table and sat down. Leo shared his tablet with Oliver and they both watched My Little Pony. Finn and Lia stood up talking to each other while making sure to keep an eye on their kids. “I think they are both going to enjoy it so much,” Lia mentions smiling. “I hope they do, I know Leo’s been wanting to go to one for a while, I wanted to surprise him with going to one” Finn responded.  “We are done!” Both the boys spoke as they showed their empty plates. “Let’s get going! We have everything all packed already we just gotta jump in the car” Finn spoke as they all began to make their way out the house.
