Damon's expression hardened. "Thisâthis isn't possible."
I crossed my arms, raising a brow. "What exactly isn't possible?"
His hands clenched into fists at his sides, his jaw tight. "You. You're an omega. My mate can't be an omega."
I almost laughed. An omega? If only he knew.
Instead, I tilted my head, feigning indifference. "Funny how the Moon Goddess doesn't seem to care about your preferences."
Damon took a step closer, his scent wrapping around me, but there was hesitation in his gaze. Conflict. His wolf wanted meâwanted its mateâbut he didn't.
"I'm rejecting you."
The words cut through the air like a blade.
For a second, the world stilled.
Kian, standing a few feet away, tensed. My third-in-command, Nova, shot me a sharp look, waiting for my reaction.
I let out a soft breath, meeting Damon's eyes with an amused smile. "Alright."
He blinked. "What?"
I stepped past him, my voice light. "I said alright. You reject me. I accept."
No begging. No tears. Just... acceptance.
Because I knew what he didn't.
Damon may have been the Alpha of the Silver Ridge Pack, but I was Alpha of something far greater.
And soon, he'd find out exactly what he just rejected.
