Chapter 48
It was the hospital calling. The phone ended with Brandonâs cursing, and he became annoyed after the phone.
âWinnie is missing. She is pregnant and has difficulties walking. If you are worried about her, go with me.
We must find her.â
Before Savanna could answer him, Brandon grabbed her arm and left the hotel.
Hearing that Winnie was missing, Savanna stopped talking.

Although she hated Winnie, Savanna sincerely did not want anything to happen to Winnie. After all, half of their blood was the same.
Brandon and Savanna rushed to the hospital. When the nurse saw Brandon, she cried even harder. The nurse sobbed and said,
âI left for medicine. When I returned, the patient had disappeared. I searched downstairs, upstairs, and the restroom. However, I found her nowhere. Iâm so sorry, Mr. Cassel.â
âWhatâs the use of apologizing? Is this how you take care of patients?â Brandon couldnât control his anger and snapped,
âWhatâs the use of scolding her? Go and find Winnie now!â Savanna reminded.

Brandon then began to make calls and used all his connections in Ireland to find Winnie.
He checked the hospitalâs surveillance video and saw Winnie had left the ward in a metal wheelchair and entered the elevator. The elevator slowly moved to the bottom floor, and no one

came out of the elevator.
They searched for a whole day and a whole night but still didnât get Winnie, as if she had vanished
into thin air.
Brandon and Savanna returned to the hotel. Neither of them had the mood to communicate due to Winnieâs disappearance. Brandon called the police. Late at night, the police called him back, âMr. Cassel, we found her. Please come to the police station.â
Brandon grabbed his coat and buttoned up his suit as he turned to Savanna, âCome with me.â
But Savanna didnât move and had no intention of moving.
Brandon stopped and ordered coldly, âSavanna, go with me.â
Savanna did not want to provoke the angry Brandon, so she followed Brandon and left the hotel to the police station, although she had been extremely tired.
When the Irish policeman saw Brandon, he said seriously.

âMr. Cassel, Iâm sorry.â
Brandon furrowed and said, âPlease, what happened to her?â
The policeman took them to the interrogation room, and behind the glass, there were several men. The policeman pointed to the men and said,
âThey violated Ms. Landis. If we had come later, Iâm afraid, Ms. Landis would have died.â
Brandonâs eyes trembled, and his expression changed aggressively. Brandon grabbed the collar of the policeman, stared at the policeman with his cold eyes, and questioned.
âAre you sure itâs Winnie?â
âYes.â
The policeman was frightened by Brandonâs aura. He removed Brandonâs hands from his collar and found a photo of Winnie on his phone. There was a woman in the photo with disheveled clothes and messy hair. Several men were on her. The scene was obscene and horrible.
Brandonâs figure swayed as if he couldnât find his consciousness for a moment.
And his lips turned pale in an instant.
Brandon soon turned from sorrow to fury. He raised his fists and was about to rush in. Brandon wanted to defeat those hooligans soundly, but the policeman stopped him. The policeman said, âMr. Cassel, calm down, please.â
Brandon then realized that he had lost control and tried to calm himself down. After a few seconds,
Brandon asked in a trembling voice.
âWhere is Winnie?â
âWe called the hospital, and they took her to the hospital. She is in bad condition and needs a
comprehensive examination.â
Brandon pointed at the figures in the interrogation room and ordered, with his voice as sharp as a
knife,
âNone of those bastards can be spared.â
âOf course.â
Brandon left the police station in a huff after getting the policemanâs promise.
Savannaâs face had turned pale for Brandon and the policemanâs conversation. She was stunned for
a long time before she left the interrogation room.

Savannaâs face had turned pale for Brandon and the policemanâs conversation. She was stunned for a long time before she left the interrogation room.
Winnie was raped.
How dramatic.
To confirm if Winnie was acting, she caught up with Brandon and took a taxi to the hospital,
together.
The atinosphere in the hospital was inexplicably sad.
The nurse stood at the door. She was at a loss because of the panic. When she saw Brandon, she became even more helpless and didnât know what to say. Branson ignored the nurse and passed by.
Winnieâs body was shaking uncontrollably in the bed, and her messy hair was scattered on her face. The footsteps could not attract her attention, and her startled eyes were fixed on something out of the window.
A nurse said behind Brandon and Savanna in an injured voice, âI want to comb Ms. Landisâ hair, but
she wonât let me and even scratched me.â
Savanna turned to look at the young nurse. There was a deep bloody scratch on her left cheek, and there was a bruise in the corner of her eye. Savanna withdrew her gaze from the young nurseâs face and landed on the mess on the ground.
The broken metal pieces on the ground proved that the nurse was not lying.
Savanna waved at the nurse, and the nurse quickly left.
Brandon clenched his fists so hard that they creaked. He squeezed Winnieâs name from his throat. He sounded so in pain.
Winnie did not react.
Her eyes remained hollow and dull, like a living dead man.
âWinnie, Iâm sorry,â
Brandon stretched out his hand. Just as his fingertips touched Winnieâs face, Winnie seemed to
have been electrocuted. Her entire body huddled up, and her face turned to Brandon slowly with fear and unease. She stared at Brandon coldly and sharply and warned, âDonât touch me. Otherwise, Brandon wonât let you off.â
âWinnie, 1 am Brandon, Wake up.â

Winnie didnât recognize Brandon and still trapped herself in the devilâs nightmare. Looking at Winnie, Brandon felt his heart was being cut by knives.
Brandon spoke to Winnie in distress, wanting to wake her up from her nightmare. Winnie listened to his words and stared at him blankly for a long time. Then, she started crying.
âYouâre not Brandon. He doesnât want me anymore. He doesnât want me anymore.â
As she spoke, Winnie became excited and even shouted.
âHe doesnât want me anymore!â
Tears rolled down from Winnieâs eyes, sparkling and translucent like pearls. Drop by drop, all of those tears hitting Brandonâs heart.
Brandon felt extremely guilty. He had failed to live up to Winnieâs trust. He could not imagine Winnieâs mood as she was waiting for him to save her. Winnie had waited for too long, and all her hope turned to despair.
Brandon blurted out, âI want you. How can I not want you?â
Brandon wiped away Winnieâs tears at the corner of her eyes with his fingers and the tear-wetted hair sticking on her face. He pulled her into his arms, and then Winnie cried out and put her arms around Brandonâs waist tightly.
âBrandon, why didnât you come to me? Why?â
As she spoke, Winnie smashed Brandonâs broad shoulder with her soft fists again and again.
Brandon did not move but endured.
Savanna was standing behind them all the time. When she heard Branson say he wanted Winnie,
Savanna was petrified.
Savanna always knew that Brandon loved Winnie with his whole heart, but she still felt her heart was grabbed by an invisible hand hard and she couldnât breathe.
The moment the tears rolled down her face, Savanna left the room and quietly stood at the door of the ward. She felt her heart was filled with holes, so she covered her chest with her hands, and her thin figure kept trembling.
Standing in silence for a while, Savanna wiped the tears and turned to leave the hospital.
The night was dark and boundless, and the few stars flickered. Savanna stumbled on the streets of the capital city of Ireland alone.
