âBrandon, why did you come?â
Savanna did not move and let Brandon hold her.
Her cold body, which was blown by the cold wind, slowly warmed up.
Brandon held Savannaâs frozen fingertips and rubbed them in his palm. âWhy is your hand frozen like this? Itâs like ice.â
âThen be careful. It may hurt if youâre not gentle,â Savanna leaned her face against Brandonâs chest and said in a low voice.
Brandon was angered. âYou didnât answer my call and disappeared without a trace. Do you know how worried I was about you? How can you have the leisure to joke around?â
After chatting with Finn, who was regarded as a madman by Savanna, Savanna was in a bad mood.
She did not want to go home with a face full of emotions, so she had to digest herself.
âWhatâs there to worry about? Iâm already an adult. I wonât lose my way.â Savanna complained.
âYou should take it seriously. The situation is different now. What ifâ¦â
âWhat?â Savanna looked up and stared at Brandon with her sharp eyes.
Brandon felt very uncomfortable being stared at by that kind of clean and eager eyes.
As a man, he wanted to be strong and bold, so that he could protect his family. And he didnât want to use all the tricky things to make his beloved woman anxious.
Brandon swallowed saliva and tried to tell Savanna good things. And he said, âYou are so beautiful and generous. What if you are kidnapped by bad people?â
Savanna was still hoping that Brandon could tell the truth. At least, as a couple, they could work together and face difficulties together.
âDonât joke around. I am old enough,â
Savanna smiled, but her face darkened.
After thinking of what Finn said, she felt even more upset. Did Brandon think that company was more important? Savanna wondered if Brandon wanted to have those supreme rights as Finn said.
Why did Brandon hide it from her? Why did Brandon not mention anything about those things when she asked so urgently?
âSavanna, what happened to you? Why arenât you saying anything?â Brandon reached out to touch Savannaâs smooth forehead. âThe wind is too strong. Is there something wrong with your body?â
Savanna took this chance to continue, âI indeed have a headache. Letâs go home. If we continue being blown by the wind, we will catch a cold.â
Brandon was extremely nervous when he heard this, and he directly held Savanna in his arms.
Many cars and pedestrians were coming and going on the shore of the river. Savanna was suddenly picked up in the air, so she felt extremely nervous.
âBrandon. Put me down. I can walk on my own.â Savanna patted Brandonâs arm nervously.
But the latter had no intention of letting Savanna go. He strode to the front of the car, opened the door, and stuffed Savanna into the passenger seat.
Then, he leaned half of his body in and buckled Savannaâs seatbelt directly.
Just as Savanna thought that Brandon was about to withdraw his body, Brandon leaned over and kissed Savanna on the lips.
The wind blew, and it felt cold and refreshing. The manâs kiss was warm.
While feeling the different feelings, Savanna smelled the salty smell of the river wind.
Their lips were entangled, and she also tasted a bit of the salty taste of tears.
After a long time, Brandon let go of Savanna while panting. His eyes were unbelievably dark, and they seemed to be full of emotions.
âIâm your husband. Iâm kissing you rather than bullying you. Why are you crying?â Brandon raised his hand and used his thumb to overbearingly wipe the tears.
Savanna began to notice that she cried. She shook her head while being unable to notice why.
Brandon frowned and said worriedly, âDid something happen to you? I feel that something is wrong with you.â
Savanna pursed her lips and pretended to be mute.
Brandon looked at Savanna for a while and had to close the door of the passenger seat.
He went around the front of the car to the ,driverâs seat and drove home.
Brandon would turn around and look at Savanna whenever he had the chance, and he wanted to decipher the root cause of Savannaâs abnormal emotions from Savannaâs reactions.
At the fourth traffic light, Savanna finally couldnât bear it anymore. She said, âBrandon, can you stop looking at me? You should focus on driving.â
âI canât,â Brandon replied firmly. âI feel that your mood is not right. So I have to pay attention to you. Do you know how many wives choose to commit suicide because of depression caused by their husbandâs neglect?â
Savanna was amused. âIf you continue to pay attention to me like this, I might be the first person to get anxious because of my husbandâs excessive attention.â
âThen tell me what happened today,â
Brandon said stubbornly.
Savanna started to be silent again.
The Ferrari steadily drove toward home. When they were about to arrive, Savanna said, âI went to see a friend today. She encountered a very serious marriage problem. She ⦠doesnât know how to solve it.â
Brandon looked like he had suddenly realized something. âSavanna, you have strong empathy ability, thatâs why you are so burdened. If you donât mind, I can help your friend analyze the situation.â
The car stopped in the courtyard.
Lizeth, who was cooking, heard the sound of the car and immediately rushed out of the house with a knife in hand.
âMs. Thompson, are you okay? Why have you been out for so long? You didnât even answer my calls.
Iâm worried about you.â
Savanna said apologetically, âI encountered something today. I was a little out of it, so I didnât hear the ring.â
âWhat happened? Are you hurt?â
Lizeth held the knife and nervously circled Savanna a few times.
That scene was very funny, like a nonsensical comedy.
âOf course, Iâm fine. Donât you see that Iâm standing here perfectly fine?â
To let everyone rest assured, Savanna turned a circle to prove that there was no problem with her whole body.
Only then did Lizeth let out a sigh of relief and was about to say something when a faint smell came from the air.
âWhat does it smell like?â Savanna was the first to smell it.
âOh, no. I am cooking,â Lizeth shouted and rushed back to the kitchen.
But that dish was already too cooked and unable to be eaten.
Lizeth walked out with a dejected expression and was about to apologize to Brandon and Savanna, but she found that the two were going upstairs while holding hands.
âMs. Thompson, arenât you going to eat something?â Lizeth raised her head and shouted.
Brandon replied coldly, âI have something to talk to Savanna about. Weâll eat it later.â
The two came to the study. And once the door was closed, the curtain was pulled, and the atmosphere in the room suddenly became serious.
âSavanna, tell me what happened. Maybe I can give some better suggestions.â
Savanna sat down on the sofa in the study and was silent for a while before saying, âGood then. I want to hear your thoughts.â
