Days pass by so fast; now there are only three days left until my sister's wedding. Everyone is busy here as today is the sangeet day. I am going to wear a yellow color lehenga. I can't believe that Sakshi di is getting married. I still remember in childhood she always talked about getting married and all, and now finally, the days are coming closer; she is going to be someone else. All is well; everything is normal between me and my so-called jiju. The thing is, we don't talk to each other; we just look at each other and give a fake smile and then move on with our lives. I just feel bad for the fact that I can't ask him for gifts...or even make him my friend ..
"Mahi," mom called me. "Yes, Mom," I said. "Come here," she shouted. I went down. "What happened?" I asked as she was looking really worried. "Call Sakshi, where is she? She has to be here by this time," mom said.
"Chill, Mom, she is going to be here," I said and try to calm her down.." please drink some water mom .. you are really very worried " i said .. she nodded ...
I called Sakshi di, but she is not picking up the call. She has gone for her bride dress trial. I told her I would join her, but she said no. It's been two hours; she is still not here. I called her around four to five times but every time her call is not reachable .. " What happened ?" My mom asked.. " her call is not reachable " i said .. " well what are you waiting for ..call Sid .. maybe he is with her.." she said .. now i guess i have left with no option ..I have to call Siddharth; maybe he knows.
I called him. "Hello." "Hey Siddha...umm jiju, I am Mahi," I said. "Who, Mahi?" he said. "Oh, come on, I am serious," I said furiously. "Okay, what happened?" he said. "Sakshi di is with you? It's been two hours; she is not home yet," I asked. "No, she is not with me," he said. "Well,"...
"Mahi, Mahi," I saw back; mom was coming towards me. I could see she is not okay. "What happened, Mom?" I asked. "Your father just called and told us to be there at RED CROSS Hospital immediately," she said worriedly. I couldn't understand why he called us to the hospital suddenly and then immediately it hits me ..nno no .. nothing is wrong with di .. she is fine.. she is probably too busy with her dress trial.. but why dad has called us to the Hospital .. I calmed my mom down .. she is crying continuously..
RED CROSS HOSPITAL
We reached the hospital. I saw Siddharth and his father standing there. "What happened?" my mom asked my father."Sakshi met with an accident," my father said. i couldn't believe what i just heard.. "Whaaaaattttt...how, where, when?" I said. Tears started forming in my eyes. I ran inside and reached the ICU, where Sakshi Di was lying in bed, fully covered in bandages. I couldn't see her like this. I hugged my mother and cried like a baby. My mother hugged me and started crying too.I can't see my Di like this. I immediately pulled myself together. No, Mahi, you have to control yourself. You have to take care of your mom and dad. I need to know what happened to Di. How did this happen? I went to my father. "What did the doctor say?" I asked."The doctor said that she is in a severe condition. They will operate on her, and then they will keep her under observation," he said. He seemed really stressed. I hugged my father, and he hugged me back.
"Mahi beta, don't worry. I will try to call one of the best doctors in this country for your Di, my daughter. Don't cry, my child. You know you are one of the strongest pillars of our family. I know you can stay strong," he said, caressing my hair. "I know, Dad. I am your strong daughter, and I will stay strong. I know Sakshi Di is the strongest. She will fight this battle and wake up again," I said. Time changes so fast. She was about to get married; she was so excited and happy. I went to the small temple they have made in the hospital to pray to God. I felt a presence near me. I looked up and saw Siddharth; he looked miserable, like he was trying to control his emotions. I went to him. "Hey," I said.
He looked at me. "Mahi, I am really sorry," he said."I know that you want to control your emotions, but don't do that. She will be okay. I am here." I don't know why I said that. He looked at me severely. "Everything is gonna be okay. Don't cry; she is going to be okay," he said."I don't even know how this happened... it's so unfortunate for her," I said."I know, Mahi. I had a word with Sakshi when she was leaving the boutique. When I received your call, I started calling her, but her phone was not reachable. Then I got a call from Mr. Rajput, and here I am," he said.
"She is a fighter, I know," I said. He looked at me as if he was about to say something more but then just said, "Take care," and walked away.
"How did it happen?" I asked my father. "Well, Sakshi was on her way back home with the driver in a car, and the driver lost control of it. Eventually, a truck hit the car," he said sadly."What about the driver? How is he?" I asked."Well, he got some injuries, but you see, the impact was not that much in the front. The truck hit the back part of the car," he said more cautiously."Don't worry, Papa. She is going to be okay," I said. I have to take care of my family. I have to be there for them. I know Sakshi is going to be okay. She has to be fine. I went to get something for my mom and dad to eat. It has been such a hard day for us. I can't even believe this happened to Sakshi Di. I wish I could turn back time. I wish I wouldn't have let Sakshi Di go out today. I put my head in my hands and thought about the day. "God, please make Sakshi Di okay...please," I prayed.
I looked at Siddharth.. He is continuously taking care for my mom and dad.. He said something to his dad and his dad went away ..." Mahi you can go home to and take some rest .." he said to me .."No i am fine.. Mom dad should go home and take some rest.. " i said .. He nodded .. i went to my mom and dad to tell them to take some rest.. but they are not ready to even leave for one second .."Mom please take care of yourself.. me and Sid are here .. we are going to take care of her.." i said .." Yes uncle don't worry we both are here for Sakshi .." he said ... my dad said my mom to go home and take some rest.. " I can't please let me stay here.." she said..
" Okay mom.. " i said and sat beside her.. we four are praying for di to get well soon.. I know she will wake up soon.
