Chapter 9//"I don't have a dirty mind, I have a sexy imagination"

I gaze in the mirror and think about the sudden change in the past few weeks.

I'm wearing a casual red dress that is short at the front but trails behind me. It's strapless but still hugs my figure, the top half has glittery sequins attached to it. Not going to lie I am in love with this dress.

I have layers of foundation slapped on my face and some areas of my heart-shaped face are toned to highlight my features. My eyes are perfectly outlined and colored to match my dress by non-other than Emily. It feels like I'm looking at me from a year ago, I have to blink twice to remember how much has changed since back then.

"Ready" Emily smiles.

"Ready as I'll ever be" Emily puts away the makeup as I walk downstairs, I see Conner waiting by the front door and my breath hitches in my throat. The dark suit makes him look somewhat dangerous. His hair is messy yet so sexy and his eyes are glowing.

I have to hold on tightly to the banister to stop myself from jumping on top of him. He looks up at me as I walk down the stairs. His cold blue-ish grey eyes look at me for a second too long.

"You look good"

Wait is he talking to me?

Me?

"Thanks, and I like your suit, not that I would ever wear it. It just brings out the grey in your eyes" I mentally facepalm myself. Really do I not know how to keep my damn mouth shut?

Bring out the grey in his eyes. Oh my I'm such a idiot.

"Your Daniel's sister right. Crystal?" He asks.

Well then...

"No Crescent" I smile. But deep down it hurts that he doesn't know my name.

Well at least he knows it now.

"Well it's nice to talk to you" He adds, a ghost of a smile playing on his lips and walks out the hall. I mean that conversation went well at least he knows my name and I saw one of his rare breath-taking smiles.

I feel my heart thumping in my chest. Why does he have to be so attractive? I know that everyone was meeting at our house but I didn't realize Conner Ryder would be here.

Stupid Crescent, of course he's here. He's always been one of Daniel's best friends. He just doesn't care about you or your name.

I walk into the living room but stop at the door. She's here. She's sitting here. She lifts her gaze to look at me and gives me a sly grin.

"Crescent can I talk to you?" Daniel asks. My mouth hangs open in bewilderment. I feel Daniel grab my shoulders as he guides me to the downstairs bedroom and closes the door.

"Cress you know you don't have to go to this Christmas dance if you don't want to. You don't have to change yourself for anyone else" I glare at him.

"How dare you let the wicked witch of the west in this house. She's the one that has ruined everything for me. Her. Aribella"

"You need to understand, I have to do this. For the team"

"No you don't. You didn't sign a contract saying you have to date a walking STD," I snap.

Actually I thought they weren't even dating anymore. Why does she have to be so attached to him?

I'm more hurt by the fact he brought her here and then he didn't even have the decency to tell me.

"You know Daniel save it. I don't care" I leave the room and slam the door behind me. I sit down on the step next to our front door. Somebody comes and sits next to me, I turn to see Alec on my right.

"Are you okay?" he asks concerned.

"I'm fine. It's just, god I hate her so much and yeah..." Alec puts a reassuring hand on mine and gives me a dazzling smile.

"If you ever need a friend to talk."

"Thanks Alec that means a lot"

I can't even believe he's friends with Elliott or Daniel he is just the sweetest thing I have ever seen, with his cute puppy eyes.

"Would a hug make you feel better?" he asks opening his arms.

I laugh at his cuteness and wrap my arms around his neck; his body warmth is somewhat comforting.

The front door flies open and in walks Elliott. He looks around the hall as he struts in with a smirk painted on his face and his dark blue eyes land on me. He looks at me his eyebrows furrowing slightly and his mouth hanging the slightest bit open with the smirk gone.

He's sporting a dark blue suit that tightly hugs his muscular build and harmonizes with his eyes. It contrasts his crisp white shirt, that has a small bowtie upon his collar. It's that pair of eyes that look between Alec and me, I know that look and I also know that he's currently getting the wrong idea.

"Can't keep to one guy can you Dawson?" He states coldly.

"Jealous much Grayson"

"I can hook up with more than 3 girls at the same time and still have a trail of them wanting me" He gives me a corky smirk but somehow the comment seems forced as he stares at me intensely.

"You have such a dirty mind" I imitate myself gagging.

"Please Dawson, I don't have a dirty mind, I have a sexy imagination"

That's just sick. He plays girls like they are some sort of game. Next enters Carter. I walk towards him, purposely standing extra close to him while throwing a smug glance at Elliott. Elliott's sea blue eyes darken as he glares at me.

"You look beautiful" Carter comments.

"Elliott" He nods.

Elliott completely ignores him and walks away. Carter gives me a weird look but I just shrug and finally take a quick peek at him, his suit is black and I have to admit he looks really handsome.

"I wonder what got him in such a bad mood" Carter laughs glancing at Alec. He shrugs his shoulders.

"Did you notice he had pink dust on his shoulders?" Carter asks the both of us. I look at Alec as he looks back at me.

I shrug. "Maybe he's trying to go for the Magnus Bane look"

They both give me a weird look. Do they not read?

Slowly people pile into the hall and we decide on the cars we will take.

Thankfully Carter brought his own car. I'm about to step out the door until Aribella tries to push past me. I automatically push my arm forward and block her.

"I'm sorry but this is my house and it's ladies first"

"Well Crescent you aren't much of a lady are you?"

"Say that to my face when you gain enough respect to be called a lady" I mentally high five myself as I leave the house with Carter by my side.

"Girl drama" he scoffs inside the car.

"Like you wouldn't believe," I reply.

The rest of the journey is anything but silent, he jokes the whole time always trying to make me laugh and we have our own little karaoke together. Also, it's begun to snow which has got me even more excited.

"You said this was a shortcut" I ask him raising my left eyebrow.

"Don't blame me if the road has moved" He laughs looking at the road.

We make it back to the main road in nearly double time and eventually arrive at the grand hall.

As we leave the car he puts his arm out "May I" He jokes putting on a posh British accent.

"You may" I copy him and he places an arm below mine. As we walk down the grand stairs people turn to look at us. And for once I don't feel like nothing. I see Daniel's stare and Elliott's glare. I see Aribella narrow her eyes, nonetheless, I straighten my posture and push my shoulders back.

I put on my best 'resting bitch face' and walk towards the crowd. Carter has it all, the glamour, the charm, the looks, the personality. I am just the cherry on top. I pray I don't ruin this moment by falling down the stairs.

I catch a glance of Emily who is standing with her date, some cute genius from our chemistry class. She gives me a dazzling smile and thumbs up. People glance at us in envy but I ignore them.

"Dance with me?" Carter asks.

"Isn't that the only thing you do at a dance," I ask.

"That, and get completely and utterly drunk" I clasp one of his hands and place my other hand on his shoulder as we sway to the beat of the music.

"You know everyone is staring at you" Carter whispers in to my right ear.

"Maybe they can still see my zebra tan," I laugh. Everyone found out about the prank Elliott pulled on me. And that I played on him.

Some congratulated me and others gave me death stares but it was worth it because the next day we were back to school his hair was still sprinkled with pink.

Suddenly Emily walks up to us with a dazzling smile on her face. "What took you two so long you missed one of the cheerleaders fall down the stairs it was epic. I'm going to call my article 'Daisy drops dead!' I like the alliteration"

"How about 'Cheerleader tumbles to her death'

"Oh I like it, it has that sort of edge to it" I nod my head at Emily, pretending I know what she's talking about.

"Well, I'm going to get us some drinks. It's boiling in here" I completely forgot that Carter is there but nonetheless he smiles at me when he walks off.

"Gurl, he is so in to you" Emily smirks.

"No he's not he's just being friendly"

"Since when was the school's biggest, airheaded jock friendly"

"Well, well, well look who it is. I thought you would have learned from the last time. First you try to hook up with Elliott, next you're trying to seduce innocent Alec and now you're messing with Carter. No big deal really I always knew you were a little slut'

"Aribella, I'm sorry I can't hear you properly, can you wipe your mouth, there is still a tiny bit of bullshit around your lips"

"You little cow, I don't even know what they see if you, your face is disgusting" I look around and see a crowd is forming. I get a sense of déjàvu from the party me and Elliott went to.

''Please" I scoff " I can remove 90% of your 'beauty' with a wet Kleenex" I hear somebody around me give a whistle in agreement as well as a few people laugh.

"Your such a bitch" She snarls.

"A female dog?" I ask. "You mean the thing that makes puppies. Thanks for the compliment" Laughter runs around the hall.

Aribella's face is a shade of flaming red, she looks around at the crowd of people, her eyes light up when she sees a perfectly untouched piece of delicious cream pie lying on the table.

Everything just begins to happen in slow motion and I see the devilish smirk on her face.

She pushes her arm beneath the mouthwatering treat and scoops it up. You hear everyone around me gasp. I know her throwing skills, and I know she had a perfect aim.

The cherry pie comes flying through the air, then suddenly it's as though everything speeds up. I sharply duck down.

Everyone's eyes widen in shock.

I turn around to see my dance partner covered in cherry cream pie. He looks down at himself in shock. He looks back up at me and I can't hold back my laughter any longer.

"Oh so you think this is funny," he asks lifting up a slice of fudge cake. This is my dad's suit" I duck down seconds before the fudge delight goes flying through the air; smartly Aribella also ducks down as well.

And the fudge pie lands directly on... Conner's head.

I don't want to imagine how hard that will be for him to wash out.

He grabs a delicately decorated cupcake and smashes it in Carter's face and rubs it in his hair.

Elliott has a devilish grin on his face as he walks over to the table of delicious food. He grabs 2 slices of a gateau. "FOOD FIGHT!" He shouts as he throws the cake in the air and it splatters everyone in sight.

Everyone runs towards the table grabbing a handful of food and begins throwing it around. I am lucky enough to be close enough to the table to grab 2 cupcakes and some sticky toffee sauce.

I look around the room and catch the back of who I'm looking for. I try and bite back the smile on my lips.

I quietly trudge through the crowd towards the certain brunette I am looking for, holding the small pot of toffee sauce. I bring my arms forward like I am about to hug him, nearly pressing against him.

He realises there's someone behind him and he's about to turn around buts he's too late. I pour the thick brown liquid on his head. This is revenge for him being a cheeky prick towards me for the past few days.

The pot falls on top of his head and I get a chance to see the shock in his gorgeous blue eyes.

He turns around to look at me but before I can run away I feel my face covered in cream.

He continues to rub it on my face, all over my hair and down my neck. I spit out the cream and wipe my eyes.

"I like your beard" Elliott smirks but I'm still smiling.

"Elliott do you know what I poured in your hair" I grin.

"Cream?" he asks hopefully. I shake my head in amusement. He runs his hand through his hair. The toffee's already drying. He winces when he smells the toffee.

I look at him realizing that he's completely drenched and whatever it is, it doesn't smell very pleasant.

"You really are going to be the death of me Dawson" As he says that he grabs some cake from inside his suit pocket, (like who does that).

His eyes light up and I see a flick of dark blue in his eyes. He wraps his arm around my back and pulls me towards him as I struggle to get out his grasp. He pushes the cake down the front of my dress. He laughs at me as I try and shake the sponge cake out my bra.

"If you want I can lick you clean, Victoria sponge is my favorite" I narrow my eyes at him and his dirty mouth.

"I'm going to make you dry clean this bra" I look down at myself and sigh, I really liked this dress. I look back at Elliot but he's staring at my dress too.

"God Dawson where the hell did you find that dress?" He says all too quiet almost like those words were only for his ears.

"Oh, you know just a silly dress at the back of my wardrobe" I shrug casually.

"You look amazing Dawson, except there's something off about you're makeup" He comments. I look at him and my frown deepens, something hurts in my chest, all I want to do is get as far away as possible from him.

He brings both his hands to my face and I think he's about cup it but instead, he brings his pointer fingers to the corners of my lip. He pulls my cheeks up slightly, removing my frown.

"Didn't you hear Dawson, a smile is the best makeup a girl can wear?"

I try and hold back the genuine smile, but it comes out anyway. The second I smile on my own Elliott drops his hands from my face and grins back at me.

"There, perfect"

I shake my head smiling "I hate you and Elliott, you stink"

"Conner threw the punch on me and it was unfortunate that I had already spiked it"

"Well you get what you deserve" I see Aribella storming out the hall her dark hair has remnants of cream in it and her dress is completely creased. I realize Elliott's also looking in her direction.

"That's the first time I've ever see the trash take itself out"

Edited, only another million to go. why is my story so lonnnnng?
