We can't afford to ignore this but where did you find it, then we can go see Colonel Dinesh.""It was in the mess complaint box, looks like an old letter as there is no date, the Mess Maintenance manager gave me as he found this today!"Riya was taken aback, this was very serious, some insurgent had inconspicuously entered the cantonment and left a message for her which meant their was someone inside the cantonment who was aiding the insurgents. She decided to go to the CO's office to report but now she couldn't trust anyone.As they made their way to Colonel Dinesh's office, Riya's mind raced with questions. Who was behind this threat? And, most importantly, what was their motive?When they reached Colonel Dinesh's office, they were met with a stern but concerned expression. Riya wasted no time in explaining the situation and handed the threatening letter to her superior.Colonel Dinesh read the letter carefully, his brows furrowing. "This is deeply troubling, Major Riya. We must take immediate action to ensure your safety and the security of the cantonment, trust no one blindly."The next day, while Riya was reading a report from Captain Sameer Colonel Dinesh entered her office, his expression grave."Major Riya," he began, "I've just received information from higher command. It appears that the insurgents have escalated their plans. Their attack is scheduled for tomorrow, at dawn."Riya's heart raced. Tomorrow was sooner than they had anticipated. She knew that they had to be prepared for a relentless assault."Sir, we're doing everything we can to fortify our defences," Riya replied, her voice steady. "We'll be ready, but I am still unable to find the mole."Colonel Dinesh nodded. "I have full confidence in your leadership, Major. The safety of our cantonment and its personnel is in your hands.
