It didn't take me long to understand Rodas's world where there was this constant conflict for territories, fights and killings. I never got used to Rodas coming home with wounds and injuries like they were nothing. But what I found beautiful was that all the people working under Rodas were like one family living in a giant home. They were friendly and fun to be around though Rodas was too harsh on them sometimes. There were rare days when they would relax in casual clothing and chill out in the garden but there were also those days when the whole building felt empty and silent like no one lives there. One year later, I found out I was pregnant. It wasn't intentional. So, I was scared of how Rodas would react. Rodas wasn't home when I found out. So, I rushed to Jeremy's room. The door was unlocked, so I didn't bother to knock."Jeremy" I called his name while entering the room. "Jere-" I stopped mid-sentence suddenly witnessing something maybe I shouldn't have. Jeremy was grabbing Z's collar while the latter's arms were around Jeremy's small frame. They separated as soon as I stepped into the picture. Z gave me a small nod and quickly exited the room. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt" I let out my guilty words.Jeremy rested his hands on his waist and let out a loud sigh."No worries, it was not a big deal," he said, but I could tell it was. Jeremy was always cheerful and excited but at that time, his voice lacked energy and he seemed frustrated. I slipped the pregnancy test kit into my pocket and went to sit beside him on the bed and put my hand on his shoulder, trying to console him."What happened?" I asked. "Zeco is being a Jerk," he said with an irritated voice. "He is going abroad for work, and it's dangerous. I asked him to take me with him. He won't agree!" "Are you worried about him?" It was a stupid question but I asked anyway. He nodded slowly."Rodas didn't even ask him to do that. He can always send another man but of course, he has to be a jerk""Z is more than capable. Maybe you shouldn't worry that much about him." Jeremy shook his head and covered his face. "He is just showing off" he groaned. "How long will he be there?" "I don't know..." He sounded uncertain and worried.I had seen them holding each other a lot of times but I didn't give much attention to it because Rodas, Jeremy and Z were so close. So, I always thought they were just kidding around but today it felt different. "What do you think of Z?" I asked to ease my curiosity. Jeremy was silent for a moment but then he spoke, "I'm not sure... I always want to be close to him, I don't want him to be in danger, I'm always worried about him. I get jealous whenever he is being touchy with someone else. If these all sum up to me having special feelings for him then... Guess, I do have special feelings for him, if that's love then I do love him," I smiled hearing his words. He was being so cute. "Awww..." I hugged him. "Maybe you should talk to him nicely. You won't see him for a while after all" "Let him be..." Jeremy replied, pulling away from the hug. "Anyway, forget about me. Why are you here?" He asked. I almost forgot about my issue. I took out the kit and handed it to him. Jeremy took it with a worried expression and when he saw the result, his eyes widened. He covered his mouth and looked at me. His reaction worried me even more but then in a moment, he screamed with joy. "Oh, my God!!!" He jumped on the bed and grabbed my hands, pulling me up with him. He hugged me tight and started jumping."Wait, Jeremy!" I grabbed his shoulder to keep him steady. "I'm scared!" I told him.His smile faded and his eyebrows narrowed."Why?" "I'm scared of Rodas's reaction," "Whyyyy????" "What if he doesn't like it?" Jeremy rolled his eyes and plopped down on his back. "You're worrying about a nonsense thing," he said.I sat down beside him. "Just tell him when he comes home... If he does anything funny, tell me... I will deal with him-""Deal with whom?" Jeremy's words were suddenly interrupted by Rodas's deep voice. Jeremy sat up immediately, looking at Rodas who was standing at the door with a gloomy face. "I - I was talking about Zeco..." His tough wall broke down immediately in front of Rodas. I sighed and shook my head before slipping off the bed. He waved his hand slightly. "See you later," I told him before walking to Rodas. "You came early," I said. Rodas's hand naturally slipped around my waist as we walked out of Jeremy's room."What were you doing there?" He asked, ignoring my words. "Just hanging out!" I told him. When we reached my room's door, Rodas pushed it open and took me inside. I was taken aback when he suddenly pinned me against the wall and started kissing me desperately. When he pulled away, he rested his head on my shoulder, taking heavy breaths. I gently ran my fingers through his hair."What's up with you?" I softly asked him."I just missed you so much!" He mumbled, giving butterfly kisses all over my neck. I closed my eyes, tilting my head to the other side, giving him more access to my neck.His rapacious hands reached under my shirt, I felt the adrenaline rushing all over me but then I realised, I had something to tell him. I grabbed his chin and made him look at me but he leaned to capture my lips again."Rodas!" I managed to make him look at me again. He looked offended for doing that. I kissed him on both cheeks. "I have to tell you something," I whispered. "That can wait," he said, slipping his hands under my shirt again."I'm pregnant," I blurted out. His hands stopped immediately and he gave his full attention to me."You sure?" I nodded and showed him the kit. He stared at it for a long time. "Are you upset?" I asked him when he didn't say anything."No... No, Sunshine." He cupped my cheeks. "It's just that I got surprised," I held his wrists."Then... Are you happy?" He chuckled and then nodded."I am... I'm more than happy," He kissed me again and held the back of my head before pulling me for a hug. "I love you so much!" He whispered to me. I snuggled closer to him, somehow knowing he was tensed.
